The best year of my life

Wow what a difference a year can make. God has been so good to us this year and I am so thankful for every bit of it. It started off with a bang and never slowed down! :) Here are just a few of my favorite things that took place this year...here we go.

In January...
Only 9 days into the new year we found out that we were finally going to have a baby! Sharing the news with everyone was so much fun.
Right after finding out I was pregnant, Drake was given the position of store manager at the company he was working for. Huge financial blessing!
We got to see our baby for the first time. So surreal.

In February...
we had family days at the beach...
watched UFC fights...
went to a murder mystery theater and stayed in the same hotel room we did on our wedding night for our Valentine's Day celebration...
and I got to celebrate some awesome students that I was lucky enough to coach.

In March...
Matt, Kathryn, and Bayleigh came to visit us...
and we enjoyed an awesome Spring Break.

In April...
We had our gender reveal party to tell everyone that we were having a boy :)
We went out on a boat and enjoyed time at Crab Island...
and celebrated our 4th year of marriage with an awesome romantic surprise evening from Drake.

In May...
we took the kayaks out...
We hit the links...
and celebrated Drake's birthday with dinner on the beach.

In June...
we kicked off the summer with friends...
My uncle came in town for Taylor's wedding...
I met up with a childhood friend...
had a girl's night out...
found out that I would be back to teaching my same position after summers of having to job search due to budget cuts. I could finally relax and know I had a job at the end of the summer and focus on my growing belly and getting the nursery ready...
and we went to The Psychedelic Furs concert with my family.

In July...
Kylie went to horse camp and loved it!
we had an awesome baby moon trip to Miami...

Drake's mom and step-dad came to visit...
I enjoyed my summer break with our redneck pool...
and I had my first baby shower.

In August...
I was SWOLLEN and hot! haha But so excited for little E to get here. (it is so weird to look back at pregnant pictures of yourself once the baby is here!)
I had another wonderful shower...
and we enjoyed time at the lake.

In September...
my world changed forever...
Best moment of my life ♥

In October...
Easton went on his first date haha...
We enjoyed family walks...
we went through a corn maze...
and Easton had his first Halloween as World's Strongest Man...

In November...
we went to a pumpkin patch...
Drake's mom, Kyle, and Melissa came to meet Easton :)
Easton had his first trip to the beach...
we enjoyed a full house for Thanksgiving...
Drake got a new toy...
and I enjoyed a girl's night on the town...

In December...
Easton enjoyed Christmas lights :)
we had some fun family time...
and had a blast for Easton's first Christmas!
So much fun to look back at the wonderful year we had. We will be bringing it to a close tonight at Trey and Danielle's house like we have the last few years in our pjs. Always a good time! 2011 was such a wonderful year. I am excited to bring in 2012 and continue to watch my sweet boy grow and continue to create memories with him and my family and friends.

Happy New Year!

He's sexy and he knows it

Ok I never post videos and now you are getting 2 in one day :) But I just have to post this from tonight. TGIF!

winding down

Hey guys! I am so bummed that I only have a couple more days on my break... I am so jealous of the people who get to stay home with their kids. Lucky ducks. I have no regrets from this Christmas Break. I have soaked in every minute I spend with little E during the day. We have played, read books, and he just continues to be awesome and hilarious. :) Here he is giggling the other day...

Last night Drake and I were able to go on a date :) Thanks for babysitting mom! We went to the mall and what do you know, we bought stuff for Easton ♥ and then went to dinner together. It was so nice to take my time and really taste my food. haha We had a great time hanging out with just the 2 of us for a little bit.

After that we picked up Easton and went home and crashed. It was way past our bedtime. I hope you all are having a great week...and now it's on to the weekend!! Here are some pictures I snagged on my cell phone over the break, Enjoy!

Christmas Weekend!

This weekend has been such a special weekend for our family. Easton's first Christmas :) Friday night we decided at the last minute to go to a light display that had a train ride. We called up my parents and they had Kylie for the night, so we all squeezed in a car listening to Christmas music and headed out. We had fun! It was fun talking with Kylie about Santa during the car ride.

This picture cracks me up! I think Easton was having a little stimulation overload by all of the lights and sounds going on. haha

Then our Christmas Eve started out making cookies :)

Easton made his first cookie :) I held out the 3 shapes and he grabbed at the tree, then I held out the icings and he grabbed for green, and finally grabbed at the blue sprinkles. SO that totally counts as him making it!

Sweet Cosmo posing in front of the tree for me ♥

After we made cookies we headed over to my parents for the afternoon. Best buds hanging in the back seat...
We showed up in the middle of some electric football

I am so thankful for my little family! This time last year I was pregnant and had no idea!

We played some soccer outside...

Pop played too :)

We ate a delicious dinner that my mom made and then it was time to open presents. I didn't expect Easton to care at all, but he was all about pulling the wrapping paper off! Of course it went straight to his mouth like everything else these days. We opened gifts and Easton got the sweetest video from my dad and Kylie! It was Kylie reciting the part from Charlie Brown Christmas about what Christmas is about. She was reading it word for word in her sweet innocent voice and at the end said, "And that's what Christmas is all about Easton Wade." Loved it!

After opening gifts we played a new board game that we got. (Christmas tradition to get a new one each year) And then we headed home to get ready for Santa to come :)

AND finally this is Easton this morning for his first Christmas morning. Yep, definitely teething.

He got a toy camera. haha

Opening gifts with daddy ♥

we opened gifts and played all morning. After that Easton took a really long nap, which meant mommy and daddy got to take a really long nap! :) Then I took an amazing bubble bath with some new bath stuff I got and wore my pjs all day.

It was a wonderful weekend! Here I am with my favorite gift ♥ I am so thankful for this life God has blessed me with. Merry Christmas!
