birthday girl, destin, and thumb update

Emmy, 

You turned 2 years old!!! We had fun celebrating you at home and will be having your party next month so that you can play and splash in the water that your cast would not allow you to do. You are my sweet, loving, determined, stubborn, fearless, silly girl. You love dancing, being outside, jumping on the trampoline, and copying your bro bro. 

 You are in size 4 diapers, and wear 4t clothes, and size 6 shoes. You have brought our family so much joy and definitely keep us on our toes! Happy Birthday! I love you so much. 

 On your actual birthday, we took you to chuck-e-cheese and had some cake and opened presents at home. 

 You loved playing games and redeemed your tickets for a big lollipop-one of your favorite things! "I wan pop" :)

Easton's class had a pretty cool guest speaker for their bug/insect unit they did at school :) 

 Emerson got her cast off! This is me sneaking a picture during nap because otherwise, she won't let anyone see it. 

 We start therapy next week. At first, I thought we would be going to see if we can get her thumb to move again. But, now I see it will be so much more. She has not used her hand at all in the last week since it has come off. She constantly holds her thumb tucked under her other fingers (you can see in every picture) and is so scared. 

 Drake and I were able to do our anniversary Destin trip! :) Rescheduled again this year with yucky weather. We drove over and enjoyed a full day Saturday. Golf, shopping, lunch, bike riding, pool, and dinner. 

 Then we slept in, had brunch, and headed home Sunday. Always a quick trip, but such an amazing weekend just the two of us.

Emerson had her 2 year check up...everything is awesome! 

So, with the constant tucking of the thumb for a week straight, and getting wet and not being able to truly dry, Emerson's thumb was getting so yucky :( 

But, we have been able to wash and dry and the scab/stitches fell off and it is looking so good! Emerson is not happy anytime we touch it and will close it right back, but I am glad that it is looking better. 

I think that is the latest update on everything. Only 1 week of tball left, 5 weeks of school, and ready to start 8 weeks of therapy. 

Spring Fun

I think Easton is most excited that spring is here. That boy will try to negotiate everyday of winter why he doesn't need to wear pants to school and that shorts are good enough. :) 

When we got back from Virginia, we went to a local Easter egg hunt that ended up being really good. I am loving capturing some memories on video with my go pro! 

We enjoyed our beautiful beach ♥ 

I celebrated turning 34! It was a Monday work day, but after I went and got ice cream with my babies and we went on a nature trail adventure. 

Emerson went for her first follow up since surgery. Her thumb is just so stitched up and swollen still. Praying that she will regain movement eventually. She was able to get it cleaned and get a fresh cast on. 

School is going great! Easton had all Ms on his report card again, and his teacher commented, "Easton continues to amaze me! He continues to set an example as a leader and he is well liked by his peers. Easton is currently on a level 14 Rigby. This is where a student in the middle of first grade should be reading. Easton is such a blessing to have in our class. He rocked this nine weeks! I am very proud of your sweet boy!"

Tball is continuing to go good as well. I love our evenings up at the ballpark this year. 

Playing with neighborhood buddies :)

This past weekend we went glamping with the Stillwell family. It was a blast! (Minus Emerson not wanting to sleep) But we went on adventures, played in the creek, ate s'mores, and looked at the chickens, bunnies, and played on the playground. It was a cool place 30 minutes from the house, but made us feel like we were away from it all. 

Tomorrow our sweet girl turns 2! Things have been postponed lately...we plan to have Emerson's party sometime next month, once her cast is off and she can play in the water and have fun with friends. Drake and I get to do our Destin trip this weekend for our anniversary celebration after rescheduling due to weather.
