Celebrations

I can't believe September is almost over already. It has been a good month with exciting weekends. We went to OWA to celebrate Easton's 8th birthday. It was a great day! He invited his best buddies, Logan and Carson and they ran around with smiles all day! It was hot, but they got to play in the splash pad too.

Walking up to school together :)
Emmy had a random day off while bro bro was at school and I had to work, so she got to enjoy a day of just her with Pop and Nanny. Having two school schedules will be different this year, but it allows Emmy 1 on 1 time with Pop and Nanny and then a few days when she is at school and I am off, I get to have date day with my boy :)
Last weekend was our first soccer games. Saturday mornings will be long. Emmy starts at 9:00, then Easton starts warming up for his game at 10, followed by a game that lasts until almost noon. So, it will be nice when it actually feels like fall outside!
Emmy did a good job and seemed to have fun. Towards the end she was getting aggravated when boys would take the ball from her as she was trying to get a goal...but she finally got one! :) Mainly because the coach had some of the boys move out of the way, but we'll take it! haha

Easton was cracking us up! Yelling on the sidelines for her to hustle, use her speed, and get the ball!

Our U10 boys won their first game 6-3. Definitely an adjustment to a bigger field and longer games in the heat!

Then Sunday, Drake and I completed in the Beach Brawl. We had a 2/2 team...I was so nervous! We worked hard and all ended up doing really good :)

We were in 2nd going in to the last event...giving me flashbacks of our last competition when we lost our podium spot on the last workout.
It was my least favorite workout of the four we had leading up to the day...bike 50 calories, 30 clean and jerks, and 50 wall balls. But it all went smooth and we did enough to finish in 1st! Such a cool experience!

football, friends, and futbol :)

Fall activities have started, but it definitely still feels like summer here! A couple weeks ago, we went up to the high school football game. We actually have not been much, but this time the kids were both having a blast. Easton enjoyed sitting and watching, talking about plays, and Emmy ran into her buddies from Mrs. Faith's house, so they were chasing and playing with pom poms all night.

School is going good this year. Easton seems to like 2nd grade...adjusting to a little more responsibilities than last year but seems to have a good class and he is working hard. He has turned into a little reader lately! He loves Dog Man and Captain Underpants.
Emerson has had fun at school. "I did a fun day at school!" She said getting in the car the last couple days. She has some notes about things like not lining up when the whistle is blown at recess because she doesn't want to leave her swing. :) Oh boy. But overall getting "great day" reports and people at car rider complimenting how sweet she is.
 play dates...

Last weekend we did a beach weekend with friends. It was a lot of fun! Beach, Pool, Big Kahunas, the Track...

Then this week my big boy turned 8!!! So crazy and I am so proud of my boy. He can still be shy, sensitive, but so silly, smart, does not like to lose, a good friend, the best big brother, still likes being tucked in with his "stuffies" yet turning into such a big kid before my eyes. We took him lunch and cupcakes since he was at school on his birthday. Then he wanted to go to the bounce house and open presents that evening.

We plan to celebrate more tomorrow. He is taking two friends with us over to OWA for the day.

Last night soccer season started. I am coaching with Pop again for Easton's team. We are the U10 Wolfpack and have 15 kids this year...it's going to be busy! Emmy started U4 Grasshoppers! She had fun at her first practice and I am excited for games to start next week!
