Attached at the hip

Yesterday Easton and I were on the go all day. Now that he is in his routine and I know when he will be doing what, I feel confident taking him out and about anywhere I need to go. Here is how my day started :) He is smiling more and more these days, which means I have a camera in his face that much more...poor kid.

He went with me to get my nails done, he just hung out in my sling the whole time. :) He was so content. After I finished up there we came home so I could feed him and then he played for a while...

Then it was nap time and he had to get rested up on his way to his first date! :) Drake picked out his outfit for the big event haha Hey, it was with an older woman, he had to dress to impress.

I met up at Bagelheads with my friend Summer and her little girl Elle who is almost 6 months old. Summer and I have known each other since we were in middle school! We grew up playing soccer together and even played together at UCF. It was so nice to see her again!

And then it was off to Easton's great grandmas house to eat again. She was so excited we stopped by, she has been out of town visiting her sisters so has not seen Easton since we were at the hospital. I was just sitting there listening to her talk to him and telling him how much she loved him and how much my grandpa would have loved to hold him and love on him too if he was still here. It was really sweet.

After that we went to see daddy at work which is always a highlight to the day :) Once Drake was off we went to my parent's house and watched the start of game 7. Easton fell asleep in my dad's lap and Drake fell asleep on the couch :) Look at them sleeping the same way! I ♥ it!!

FINALLY, after that I stopped by the Pace-Milton football game for a few minutes. Pace is where I taught a couple years ago and my old students are now the seniors, and Milton is where I teach now...so I was able to run into a handful of old and current kiddos :) Easton was pooped after the long day...crap, I was too!

Today I am doing nothing! Just bumming around...paying some bills, (the medical bills started rolling in for my c-section and everything else. ugh.) editing pictures from last weeks shoots, and maybe I will get some cleaning done...I am leaning towards no on that one :) Have a great weekend, I can't wait for Drake to get home from work!

Thought Vomit Thursday

Here's to another week of random bullet points of my life...

*I have upgraded the technology in my life this week. First I ordered a new camera! :) I am so excited about it. When I first bought a DSLR I just got the cheapest one I could find because I never intended on taking pictures as a side job, but since that has happened and I am staying busy with it, I decided it was time to upgrade. Yay! It should be here in the next week.

Also, our 2 year phone contract ran out recently, so I re-signed up and got an iphone4. I usually could care less about my phone-before this I was still using the phone I had from college! No internet or anything on it...and I could have cared less. But it is nice to have so many things on my phone now.

*I have been on a hot streak with craigslist lately! Since I have been home on leave I look around at all of the useless crap we have, so I started posting some stuff and have been able to get rid of several things. I also ran across a few things...I just picked up about 350 diapers for 5 bucks :) Sweet!

*Last night Easton slept through the night! :) Like...my version of through the night meaning 9-5. Not some doctor's through the night of 12-5. That is not through the night in my world. He is doing so good. ♥ I love this kid so much!

*Tonight in kickboxing class we are having a Halloween themed workout and are turning all the lights out and working out with black lights, glow sticks, and glow in the dark paints. It should be fun!

Picking back up

Well, I have continued to enjoy my maternity leave SO much...like I doubted that! I have never been so happy with everything around me. I love my job, my friends and family are always here for me, my husband is an amazing daddy and best friend, I have my miracle baby. What more could a girl ask for?! ♥

Now that I have 6 weeks of leave done and feel like myself again, I am slowly starting to get back into my old groove. I have started working out again...I have been walking several weeks now, but I was finally able to go back to the gym and really workout. Back to my kickboxing class. Yay!

I also went into work today because it was a planning day and I was able to kind of get caught up on what my students have been doing while I have been out so I don't feel totally lost when I go back. My mom kept Easton and although I called to check on him all day and had my mom send me a picture, I did good for my first day away from him. Knowing he is with my mom helps so much!

I also started scheduling some photo shoots again and am excited to get back to taking some pictures for some extra "play" money :) Here are a couple shots from yesterday's shoot...



Drake and Easton came along and walked around with me :) After that I got some Red Lobster to-go and came home and enjoyed some crab legs in my pjs. Ahhh

Sunday Funday

Yay for Sunday! Although I am still off and the days seem to run together for me, Sunday is my guaranteed day off with Drake ♥ Easton only got up once during the night last night and we started our morning with a family walk :) It's going to be a great day! xoxo

Family Pictures

When we took our maternity pictures a while back, we got to shoot at a couple different locations. When we headed to our last spot the place was locked up and by the time we would have went to another location it would have been dark. The photographer said we would make up the last location, and I asked if we could just wait and take the last couple shots once Easton was here to conclude our session and he was cool with that :) So, here are a couple shots we took up the road...it is a house that was blown away by Ivan and the stilts are still there, so I thought it might look neat.

Out and About

Today Easton and I got ready and then we headed up to my work. I had a couple things to do and did a health screening that will allow me to take $20 bucks off my insurance each month. I'm there! I got to see my kids...my special needs class and my TV Production kids. It was nice to see them all.

After that we went to see daddy at work :) He was almost off so we hung around and then once he was done locking up we went downtown and just walked around and enjoyed the cool evening weather. Here are some pictures Drake took while we were there. ♥



Even though I know he is looking for food here, I like to think that he really is trying to give me a kiss back haha

Hey guys! Today has been another good day. Easton slept really well last night and had a good day with me at home. Drake got home from work a little early so we went to my parent's house. This is what happens when you leave Easton with my dad...





My parent's watched Easton while Drake and I went and got tattoos :) Drake got Easton's name on his side...

I think it hurt a good bit based on the fact that this is the sweat from his leg on the table haha

Couldn't ask for more

Happy Friday Eve! :) Time is ticking and I only have a couple weeks left of my maternity leave. I am going to hate leaving my boy when I go back to work :( Yesterday Drake had the day off so during the morning time we tag teamed so we could get some things done...he watched Easton while I went and got my nails done and then I watched him while Drake went to the gym. After that we hung out for a while and then took Easton up the road to look at some pumpkins :) Look at this male model face haha oh and can you tell I have a lack of sleep these days?! Check out those bags under my eyes. Bags of love my friends :)

Our family ♥ I am so happy! :) This year Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas will have a whole new meaning to me. I am so excited!

After looking at pumpkins we headed to Olive Garden with Jenn, Ronnie, and their kiddos. All 3 of the kids were so well behaved :)

Now it is Thursday and the day is off to a good start. Easton and I went out with the jogging stroller again this morning to start our day and now he is napping. I am hopefully going to tackle some laundry and cleaning in a minute. Have a great day! xoxo

1 month old

Easton,

You are already 1 month old! You have been such an amazing baby :) You eat every 3 1/2 to 4 hours and then stay awake for about an hour and a half after feeding before you settle in for a nap :) Right now you get up 2 times a night. I get up and feed you the first time and daddy feeds you second which works out since the second feeding happens close to the time he has to get up for work. You eat about 4 ounces now.

I finally feel like we have a routine and I am loving being on maternity leave and spending so much time with you. I love when you smile in your sleep and cannot wait until you are smiling at me :) You now focus on my face and will follow it with your eyes. You already hit a milestone the other day with rolling over! I thought it might have been a fluke but you did it again twice yesterday.

You love laying on your play mat and hitting the toys above you. You weigh about 10 pounds now. You get to see your pop and nanny all the time which they love and you got to meet your babcia and grandpa this past weekend.

You are everything to me and your dad and I am so thankful that I get to watch you grow up. ♥

Pure Awesomeness

Today has been a good day. Drake's mom and step dad got in town last night so we all went for a walk this morning. The weather was gorgeous. After that we hung around for a bit until Drake and I went to the boardwalk at the beach and grabbed lunch and walked around for a minute while grandma and grandpa watched Easton at home for us :)

Once we came home the guys went and played golf and Easton got loving from both grandmas ♥



I put Easton on his belly for some tummy time and he had his first little milestone :) He rolled over from his stomach to his back! Yay Easton :) He was still a little in shock at how amazing he is...

Well, I am off to shower and get to bed. Have a great weekend!!

The Business of Being Born

I went to lunch with an old co-worker today and they were telling me about this documentary. Have any of you seen this? I want to watch it...I was told about it after I was telling them my birth story and how I felt like my c-section was preventable due to unnecessary pitocin. Makes me sick.

Thought Vomit Thursday (Eve)

Most of you who read my blog also read Oak (that's her son in the picture) and Natalie's blog, so you already know what Thought Vomit Thursday is. Just a way to get all of the random stuff clogging up your brain out without having any structure or format. (I do believe that is how all of my posts are, but that's ok :)) Oh and it's not Thursday...that's ok too. haha

* In the spirit of the whole vomit thing, I figured I would share a picture of this morning's incident on Easton's play mat. His head was on the turtle's face and his cute little hands swinging and grabbing the toys above him...and then-wham! Projectile at it's finest. Look at that distance! Poor baby :( I think he is feeling a lot better today. The last 2 days were very draining. He had an upset stomach both days and was crying all day. I started freaking out thinking he was getting colic, but today he seems much better. :)

* I have started looking at Halloween costumes online. The crappy part is that with Easton being so small and young this Halloween, he will only be able to fit into the costumes that have bunting at the bottom. All of the others I have seen are for 6 months and older. That really narrows down the options. They have a few hulk, superman type costumes and then random ones (whoopee cushion, car air freshener, ketchup packet?!) I guess I could make his costume...oh wait, I have 0 crafting abilities. dang it.

*I am officially obsessed with Mio. Each time we go to the grocery store I get 1 Strawberry Watermelon, 1 Berry Pomegranate, and 1 Fruit Punch. I don't know what it is, I know they are just like the powder packets you can add to water, but this is not as annoying...and you can make a little or a lot instead of having to do a 20 ounce water. I used to struggle resisting soda, but these have helped so much!

*Little E has been cruising the hood everyday this week in the jogging stroller :) I love it! And the weather is comfortable which makes a huge difference. It feels good to be back on the move, and the whole time I am going I get to just look down at his sweet little face, oh and just shoot the breeze with him and he listens to everything I have to say ♥

Fresh Start

Ahhh Fall weather officially hit today. The weather was cool and it felt amazing! I love that it rolled in on the first day of October. A new month. A fresh start. I love October and the fact that I will be off of work for the entire month :) Me and Easton spending quality time together everyday ♥

Today was a great start to the month. We went to Sweet Seasons Farm with the gang and the kiddos. They have a corn maze and several other things for the kids to play on and activities for them to do.

After that we headed over to Trey and Danielle's house and hung out through the evening. We had a pizza cook off. Everyone brought their own ingredients and made their own pizza for everyone to eat. It was fun...and yummy! After that we came home and threw our pajamas on after a long and fun day. Well, I am off...we are watching football. Happy Saturday!!
