Well, we made it through April. It looks like some stores/restaurants will slowly start to open next week, but we are not going back to school the rest of the year and still doing our best working and homeschooling at home while Drake is at work. I am so sad that Easton won't be finishing up at his school. No end of the year awards celebrating or saying bye to friends and he is sad about no track meet. It was looking like he was going to make it again this year. I think it hits me a little more with him because he won't be back to that school ever again, 3rd grade means he moves up to the Intermediate School, where 3rd-5th graders go. Emerson will go back to her same school for K4 next year, so that will all stay the same.
April has always been my favorite month. The weather and celebrations are the best...and we did make the best of them. I keep saying how thankful I am for the good weather during this time, it has been a lifesaver! So, at the start of the month I turned 36! I got some tie dye to do shirts and then we went to pick strawberries :)
Once Drake got home that evening he had me go out front, and here comes a line of cars of friends honking and waving, throwing candy and spraying silly string to tell me Happy Birthday. It was really sweet!

Then, a few days later Drake and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. We had to cancel going to Destin for the weekend...and instead went downtown and I ate crablegs in the back of the car.
And we always take Pop, Nanny, and the kids doughnuts when we show back up after a date to pick up the kids.
Every Wednesday, Easton has a meeting with his teacher to go over work, answer questions and she gets his grades from what they do during their zoom meetings. She is so awesome!

We went out searching for geocaches, Easton fell in love with finding those little random boxes during this quarantine!
We celebrated Easter at home, and went to Pop and Nannys to do some more egg hunting.

We anxiously awaited the pool getting finished...and all of our other half done projects in the backyard. But as I type this, we are almost done with everything!
We celebrated Emerson's 4th birthday!! We had booked a gymnastics party months ago, but obviously couldn't do that. We asked her friends to drive by our house to tell her Happy Birthday. She felt so special as cars would pull around and start honking for her. I know she doesn't understand why she couldn't play with everybody, but she just seemed excited to see everyone, even if just for a minute. It was a special day ♥ I can't believe she is already 4!
And after the parade, the kids got to take their 1st official swim in the new pool!
Her birthday went out with a bang! That night around midnight Drake and I woke up so fast from the loudest whistling, wind sounds outside and we just ran for the kids and got in the laundry room as fast as we could. We had a tornado! It was such a scary few minutes. Easton crying and praying, Emerson covering her eyes and not moving. I am so thankful that we ended up just having fence damage. Crazy stuff!
His new weekly multiplication competition that was added to our calendar :) Easton loves seeing two of his best buddies from class, and I am proud of them for already knowing all of their multiplication facts so fast!
Another friend of his did a "Reader's Theater" at his house and sent a picture of the performance :)
I can't say enough how happy we are that we went through with the pool this year! It has been great in the afternoons to come out and...well, let the kids swim because it is still freezing! But even if we don't swim, the new big back patio with speakers, comfy chairs, and a big cover for shade is so nice!
We enjoyed having two parades this month, but will also go to two parades. It's for sure the new thing!
So overall the month was good to us! We are all ready to slowly get back to normal life, but time at home has been a blessing. Thankful to still have our jobs, teachers who love my kids, so much time playing outside with awesome weather, and Easton and Emmy have gotten that much closer...all mixed in with some sibling rivalry, my moments where I feel like my patience is gone too early in the day, and eating too much junk food...but overall I am so so grateful for this life! ♥
