The Little Things

Today Drake was lucky enough to work from 6am to 8pm. Ugh! So while he was away, me and little E went to my parent's house for the Alabama-Auburn game. Kyle and Kylie came over and while everyone was watching the game Kylie was reading one of her books :) I called her over and asked if she wanted to go to the park. "After the Alabama game?" she asked...."Nope" and then she said, "Oh, at half time?"..."Nope" I asked her if she wanted to go right then and she did not hesitate to put her book up and go with me. One day she will be too cool to hang out with her dorky Aunt Racey, so I thought it would be fun to go have a random play date with her.

I guess it's because I don't get to see her all the time, but when I am with Kylie I take note and cherish the little things around us. I had the best time with her for the hour we spent with just the two of us. We hopped in the car and she had total control over the pandora, so we listened to Miley Cyrus and sung together with the sunroof open. We played at the park, a game of hide and seek and got on the tire swing, we ate red hots out of her Alvin and the Chipmunks lunchbox. We stopped at the gas station and I let her pick out a snack. She chose gatorade and donut holes. :) It was a great outing with my girl and a great day overall. xoxo

Gobble Gobble

Happy Thanksgiving! Today started out with me taking Kyle and Melissa's engagement pictures. We headed to an abandoned warehouse that I spotted near my work and have been dying to take some pictures at. They are getting married next summer and I am so excited to go!

This Thanksgiving was neat because we had parts of both families at our house. Look at this good looking group! :) This is Drake, Cosmo, me, Easton, my brother, his girlfriend, Kylie, my grandma, Drake's mom, my mom and dad, and Drake's brother and fiance.

We had some awesome food! Such a good day and beautiful weather again. Easton had a great 1st Thanksgiving! His face says it all :)

Family Time

After that we headed to the beach. It was beautiful. It rained last night so we had cool air come in just in time for the holiday. The sky did not have a single cloud and the water was clear. It was so nice. Easton was hanging out with his Babcia...

Feet in the sand

Yesterday while I was on fall break and it was 80 degrees outside (gotta love Florida) we went to the beach :) Easton's first trip! He was cracking up while I was putting his sunscreen on him.

We didn't stay long but I was so excited to take Easton to the beach. I have so many childhood memories on that white sand and I am excited for him to grow up at the beach. My summers off from teaching will be so fun taking Easton to the beach! So many things to look forward to with my little guy.

Once we were home from the beach, Drake's family got in town and we hung out with them. :) Today we went to show Kyle and Melissa where Drake works and then got lunch at Olive Garden. After that we made a grocery run and hung out and played a board game this evening. Now it is past my bedtime. Have a good night! xoxo

Cousins

Easton met Kylie for the first time tonight ♥ She was singing the ABCs to him and he was just staring at her and smiling. :) I love these two cuties SO much!

Kicking it off!

Today officially kicks off Fall Break! I am so excited about the week ahead of us. Food and Family ♥ Kylie gets here tonight and Drake's mom, brother, and his fiance get here Monday. :) Yesterday for my last day at work, we took the students to O'Charleys to eat. I set up a tour of the kitchen with the manager before they fed us. It was actually really interesting...like the fact that their electric bill is $7,500 a month! Wow. After the tour we had some yummy food!

And then we headed downtown. I took a few pictures of my student Jessica to put in a little album for her in January as her going away gift. For ESE students, you "age out" when you turn 22. I will miss this sweet girl.

Then we went inside the TT Wentworth Museum. It is 3 stories and has a ton of facts about Pensacola.

One of the rooms had all coke stuff :) Love it!

While I was away for the day, my sweet boy hung out with his pop and nanny. They played and went to the mall together. :)

Once we all got home for the evening, we hung out in our pjs and played with this awesome guy. He loves his play mat!

It was a good day. :)

starting our own

I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving...and then the Christmas season starts! I am so excited to start our very own family traditions with Easton. My mom was telling me about The Elf on the Shelf. Have you seen this? Basically after you read the story, a magic elf "appears" in your house to watch and make sure you are being good during the holiday season. Every night the elf goes back to the north pole to report to Santa if you were good or bad and reappears the next day. BUT he or she reappears in a different spot so you have to find where the elf is hiding each morning. Once Christmas eve comes and the elf hears Santa's Christmas bells, they go back to the north pole until the next season. :) How cute is that?

I am in a good mood tonight :) Tomorrow is my last day at work and for my "work" day we are taking the kids to O'Charleys to eat and going to a museum downtown. Tough life ♥ Happy Thursday!!

He had his 2 month check-up today, which means shots :( So, my mom was the lucky one who took him to his appointment. I got off in time to get there right after. She was in the waiting room for me to pick him up. I asked her how it went and she just started tearing up. Oh geezzz just what I needed to see. I'm glad I didn't have to see him in pain. Poor baby. She said he screamed and cried so hard...not long, but very loud. Everything else went great at the appointment, he is healthy and growing ♥

This week has been good overall, nothing out of the ordinary. 2 more days of work until Fall Break! Woo Hoo! Happy Hump Day!

Dang it

The weekend is gone :( Oh well I have this week of work and then I get a week off for Fall Break! :) I cannot wait! Drake's family and Kylie will be in town! Today we had a good day...Easton was smiling more than ever :) He makes us laugh all day long. ♥ We got some stuff done around the house, we got groceries and I edited some pictures. After that we made a trip to the mall and I got some boots from journeys that I spotted online and had to go get :) Then daddy got a new toy...

It was a good 3 day weekend :) I'm refreshed and ready to take on the week! xoxo

Long weekend

Hooray for 3 day weekends! :) Yesterday I washed my car, got my nails done, went tanning, worked out, and then met up with my friend Kim in the evening to go to the mall. After that we went back to her house and two of her friends that were in town from Jacksonville came over. We hung out and then decided to go downtown for a little girl time. It was a lot of fun.

It was an awesome night ♥

BUT no matter how awesome the night was, it was not as awesome as getting up this morning to this face. :)

Today Drake worked all day, so Easton and I hung out and played and then I had a shoot this evening. Now we are watching football and spending the evening in. Gotta love Saturday nights! xoxo

2 months

Easton,

You are 2 months old today! I still have moments where I just stop and cannot believe you are really mine.You are such an awesome baby. This month you really started to make noises and smile.You had your first Halloween where you went as The World's Strongest Man :) You were passed out the whole time, but you sure were handsome.

This month I also went back to work. Hardest. Thing. Ever. Although I did better than I thought I would, I still miss you like crazy when I am at work all day. Your nanny is good about sending me updates on you and sending me lots of pictures to my phone. When I hear my phone go off at work I get so excited knowing it might be a picture of you to look at.

It is crazy how much you grew this month. You went from your newborn clothes hanging off of you last month to your 3 month clothes being tight. You are 23'' and weigh 12 pounds now. You also went from up twice a night to being up once a night now which I think is great! I am hoping by your 3 month update to write that you are through the night all the time :) Oh, and you are able to just hang in your bumbo now, holding your head up ♥

We usually start our day at 6am and I feed you until nanny comes over at 6:30. At that point she plays with you and I get ready for work. You eat around 9, 12, 3, 6, and 9. Then it is your bath time and you settle in for the night. You LOVE your baths now :) And I love giving them to you. I can just see how calming it is for you.

In the short 2 months of your life, you have also picked up a few nicknames from all of us. :) E Money is the most popular, E.B. Butter bean, TTB (this is the code for ticking time bomb haha If we are out and about and you are sleeping and then it is getting close to feeding time and you start squirming, we will say it's time to go, Easton is a TTB) farty to the party, and squirmy wormy. :)

One day your nanny asked if I had a baby book to record your milestones and write certain things down, and I mentioned having this blog as that. I just made all the blogs from 2009 (when we started trying for you and praying that we could be your mom and dad) into a book and plan on doing that for each year. Then I started thinking about you actually reading them one day...maybe if you are really bored and have a lot of time on your hands. :) If you are reading this right now, I wonder what you became? Are you and your wife reading this? Maybe you are looking through it with your kids, showing them what your life was. Maybe I am long gone? Whatever the circumstances that bring you to this page, I hope you know how much your dad and I love you and how much you have fulfilled our lives. I just get so excited to think about the life ahead we have with you. I now know what it means to have it all. ♥

Another day down

One more day closer to the 3 day weekend :) Today was a good day at work and then right after I went to go pick up Easton and then we were back in the car to head up to city hall. My students got recognized by the mayor, which they thought was the coolest thing ever! It was so cute :) While I was away, my assistant choked in the classroom and my sub had stepped out. The kids thought to hit the button to call up to the front office for help. I was so proud watching them getting their awards.

After that Easton tagged along to go to the soccer game with me. I wanted to go watch my girls from last year play before it gets too miserably cold out. I miss my girls, but I could not be happier that I decided to take the season off of coaching to be with Easton.

Happy Sunday! Today was a good day, we spent most of our morning at home as a family just enjoying each other and playing with Easton. Once the afternoon hit, Chase, Summer, and Elle came by to hang out. Apparently Easton and Elle's first date went so well that they wanted to hang out again. :) Elle even bought Easton a new hat that looks like a baseball ♥

Well, I am headed to get a workout in and then get things ready to head back to work in the morning. 4 day work week this week. Sweet!

The Weekend!

Wow thank goodness it's the weekend! I put in a long one day at work :) My first day back went fine, I missed Easton so much and called to check on him throughout the day, but everything went great. I wish I could be a stay at home mom with him, but it's just not in the cards. At least I have the best job in the world that allows me to have fall break, Christmas break, Spring break, and Summer break with him! :)

Last night we went to dinner with my brother and his girlfriend. We ate at global grill, a tapas bar downtown. I think my brother thought I was crazy when he found out I was bringing Easton...worried that he would be whiny in this fancy pants place. Maybe I am crazy, and I know when he gets older it will be a different story, but I was confident about the fact that we were meeting at 7:30 and that is when Easton would be taking one of his naps. He didn't make a peep the whole time :) Good job E!

This weekend is going to be beautiful weather for us! :) I plan to open the windows and finish my cleaning (yes I actually started the other day) while Drake is at work, and then I am off to do a shoot this evening, and then it's Alabama vs. LSU tonight! Happy Saturday xoxo

Another first

Last night after a photo shoot I had scheduled, we took Easton to my parent's house for his first overnight. Ah! Since I go back to work Friday, my mom let us have one full night of sleep to try and catch up a little. It felt SO good to sleep all night! But as soon as we got up, we ate breakfast and could not get over there fast enough to pick up little E :)

Yes, I go back to work the day after tomorrow. :( 8 weeks already?! Back to work on a Friday you ask...that's silly! Oh no my friend, it is actually one of the smartest things ever. haha I figured Mondays are already terrible, so why leave Easton and get thrown back to the working world all on a Monday. I figured I would go back this Friday...it is "pay day" for my interns, so we are taking them to the local Arts Festival for the day. It will be fun.

Today Drake had off so after sleeping in a little bit and picking Easton up, we headed to the dog park so Cosmo could run around and chase squirrels. You remember Cosmo, that dog that I used to talk about all the time on here and take a ton of pictures of...yes we still have her :) Poor baby doesn't get any attention anymore. Here you go Cosmo...

Annddd now back to Easton :) He was bundled up to walk around the park because it is next to the water and it was really pretty out, but really breezy too.

Now we are off to Target to get some frames, we are re-doing our dining room right now and I want it to be done by Thanksgiving so we can actually use it. Some of Drake's family and my family will be over that day! I can't wait! Happy Hump Day.
