laundry, football, and celebrating

Happy (almost) fall! I put out my decorations but the weather is telling us that summer is here to stay for now. :) Super hot walks home from school are no fun...so my new bike has been awesome to ride home with Easton, oh and pick up Mel on the way too! :) I have been so lucky to have met my other "walker" buddy and the boys became friends too. They are military so will be leaving at the end of this school year :(

Easton started flag football and has had 2 games so far, our 3rd one is tonight. He has had 2 touchdowns, two 2-point conversions, and 2 flags pulled so far...he was so excited about that because last year that was the one thing he was never able to do.

We have decided to slowly tackle our needed home renovations now and then in a couple years when we are possibly ready to build on our lot, our house will be ready to sale at that point. So, we started with our poor little laundry room :) It has been all white (with mixed in brown dirt stains from cleats, muddy kids, and even scuffs back from when we had sweet cosmo) with metal wire since we moved in 10 years ago. It's embarrassing seeing the "before" pictures, but I love how it turned out! And now it makes me that much more excited and anxious to tackle our next renovations. (master bath, lighting/fans...)

I ordered some signs but wanted a picture for that big blank spot...so the next thing I know we are taking pictures at the coin laundry in town :)  

 Football pictures from Pop's camera...these boys love doing their chest bumps just as much as scoring I think. We also started soccer this week, but no pictures since me and Pop are the coaches :) We will have to put Drake and Nanny on picture duty when games start. I think we are going to have a good/fun season. 

 Since last time I posted, it was also Easton's 7th birthday!!! I can't believe it. So bittersweet. We decided instead of a party this year to let Easton pick a buddy and take them to the water park and hang all day instead. It turned out great and they had a blast! 

Then on his actual birthday, we took him Chick Fil A and cupcakes to his class ♥ So proud of this boy. Mid-terms come home today and he has all As so far in 1st grade. Great job E

So blessed!! Thank you God for these two sweet babies and allowing me to watch them grow and reach their potential through your plan for their lives. ♥ 

 This sweet girl is definitely gravitating towards all things creative. She loves music, art, and dancing so much. She is not shy, gives the best hugs, and loves when I paint her fingernails...but then goes out to run and get dirty with bro bro.

 I started at a new gym this week and am excited about it! I already know several of the people there and the kids area allows Emerson to see me and Easton can sit out with us in the workout area, and even do some of the things with me...super family friendly and they start the workout with a scripture and prayer. 

Just continuing to stay busy, while trying to stop and remember how good this season of life is right now. xoxo

Just popping on real quick to post some pictures from the last couple weeks. We have had some fun on our weekends this month! Drake was working downtown on a Friday, which was also the Friday Gallery Night of the month, so it worked out perfectly so we could meet him down there to kick off the weekend :)

The kids had fun spray painting, doing basketball, hula hooping, and walking around downtown.

My new amazon purchase also came in the mail :) Easton's add on bike...it is perfect so that I can ride up to his school to pick him up and he just hops on for the ride back :) We are officially the nerdiest family in town, but I love it!

We also went over to Alabama for the day and tried out Urban Air. It was awesome! No crowd and the kids had so much fun. It was worth the drive for sure. 

First grade is off to a a great start. This week starts grades, spelling tests, and the real work. But, I think Mrs. Jernigan has some great hands on things she does to make connections to their stories and topics in class, which Easton will love. Her goal for him this year is, "for him to realize it is okay to make a mistake." My sweet little Easton. Such a perfectionist...wants to be the best and perfect at everything he does. Here is his goal he made for himself...

Emerson will actually request their little garage door picture before she gets in the car...I can't turn her down! :) 

She is doing great at Mrs. Faith's house and LOVES coloring when she gets home.

This weekend we did some yard work, pressure washing, but also made sure we had fun too. A local church had an event with a bunch of fun (free) activities and food. It was SO hot, but a lot of fun.

Then yesterday it was the park, playing sports, and cooling off in the pool ♥ 

Easton started flag football last week and will start soccer soon, we are about to get even busier...and I love it! I can only imagine how exciting and busy things will be once Emmy finally gets to join in! Once she turns 3 we can start gymnastics. It will be here before we know it! Easton is about to turn 7, I can't believe it. Have a good week!! xoxo

transitioning back to the routine

Hello! We are back into our school routine and everything is going so good :) Before we got back to busy mornings, it was time for the annual manager's weekend for Drake's company. After going for the first time last year, we were so excited to go knowing what was in store for us. We drove down to Orlando to enjoy our last few days of summer together. :)

The first day is mainly driving and yummy food on the way down. 

Then the next morning we have brunch, and they give out goodies before you are on your own until the banquet Saturday night. 

We went shopping alll afternoon. Believe it or not, Drake was more excited than me. :) We enjoyed the outlets and went back to get ready that evening. We ended up going to the Sugar Factory to eat and ended at Top Golf, way past our bedtime. It was such a fun time!

Ahhhh then sleeping in! Saturday we slept in, went to eat, and then sat by the pool for the afternoon until we got ready for the dinner banquet. 

Finishing up with the banquet :) Drake won another award this year. I am so proud of him and how hard he works for our family. He works his butt off all day and then comes home straight to playing with the kids until bed. We are so lucky. 

While we were away, Easton and Emerson got to spend time with Babcia and Grandad. I am so thankful they were able to come down and keep them and hope that they had a good time-I know the kids did! 

After an awesome getaway, the next thing you know, it's Monday morning and back to work! Pre-planning for teachers, so Easton still had one more week to go strong on summer break :) He had a fun day with his buddy Brayden at the zoo, splash pad, and Chick Fil A...

and then got to stay with Pop and Nanny the rest of the week. Beach, pool, Ft. Pickens, sky zone...

Sweet Emmy was back to Mrs. Faith's house. They moved over the summer and I think she is liking the new set up. More room inside to run, a doggy to play with now, and sleeping mats instead of their pack and plays. 

They have all done awesome! yay!

So thankful we found Faith and have the setup that we do. This is year #3 with this group!

Easton went to meet his teacher too! We are SO happy that he is with Mrs. Jernigan this year!! She is a friend of mine that I used to teach with and know that she is an awesome person who is truly excited about what she is teaching. 

 Then, the first day of school was here! First day of first grade. Crazy. Easton was more nervous than I thought he would be this year, but mixed with his excitement too. Lots of nail chewing going on. 

He said it is "awesome" and I am thankful that he already knew a couple friends in his class from Kindergarten.

 It's going to be a great year!!
