This past Monday was a special day....well first let me jump back a bit. I always try to do a family photo shoot sometime near Easton's birthday. This year I decided to wait until October so it wasn't miserably hot, which turned into me deciding to attempt a photo shoot at the fair. :) Since I decided on the fair, we set a date for Monday just because it would hopefully have the least amount of a crazy crowd. The closer the day got, I realized that Monday would be October 20th, exactly one year since Easton's seizure. That night a year ago we watched Easton stop breathing with his little body just limp and purple as we were rushed in an ambulance to the ER...and here we were, a year later...watching him play, ride rides, eating caramel apples and loving life. ♥ These pictures will forever be so special to me! 

After we finished our pictures, we met up with my family to ride some rides and hang out. 

 Easton loved the rides this year! :) 

It was such a great day with the people I love. ♥ 

Grandad Frank

Drake's Grandad Frank passed away today and will be missed by so many. Drake will be flying out in the morning to be with his family through the weekend. RIP Grandad Frank, we love you!

Saturday

 Hey guys! This week was filled with some of our normal routines and we also mixed in our rotation so we each had a day to do whatever we wanted again :) I got a massage and went shopping Wednesday and Drake went golfing Thursday. 

This morning was Easton's last game of the soccer season, but we had to miss. :( Poor guy was up three different times last night screaming and crying so hard, so this morning he slept in past his game time. We will have to go next week to pick up his team picture and metal. :) Awww 

After sleeping in, you would have never known he was up all night. He was ready to go! I'm glad he was feeling okay because we had a busy afternoon getting ready and going downtown to Kim and Lance's wedding. It was beautiful and Easton had a blast on the dance floor with James all evening. ♥

farms and fishing

I could really use some extra hours thrown onto this weekend. Maybe for extra sleep, or extra time to actually start AND finish cleaning the house...but it's just not happening. I have been busy working and having fun the last few days and am dragging before the work week even starts. Uh oh. :) Friday I went straight from work downtown to shoot a wedding all evening/night. Everything went great, but I hate missing that time with my guys. They went to the football game and Easton had a great time! 

Saturday Easton had a soccer game and his team pictures. :) I can't wait to get those back next week at his last game of the season. Crazy. After his game we met up with my family and went to sweet season farm. I planned to go later since it is still hot here, but Kylie was in town so we had to go. :) It is supposed to rain tomorrow and Tuesday and bring fall weather back Wednesday this week so I am excited...and hopeful that it sticks around since next Monday I have family pictures scheduled with outfits that include cardigans. Gah. 

Anyways, so sweet season was a lot of fun minus that fact that we almost melted away.

 My brother and Rose asked me to grab a picture of them in the sunflowers to use for their Christmas card this year...this my friends is dedication to a Christmas card :) It was like 90 degrees but they busted those sweaters out for the picture. haha

 Easton was finally big enough to ride the cows this year by himself and he loved it! I am hopeful he will enjoy the fair more this year too.

 After we left there we came home to shower and grab some food...then I was off again to shoot a retirement party. Luckily I only worked an hour which flew by after working for hours the night before. 

Finally today we have been hanging at the house, doing some laundry and things prepping for the week and Easton went to a free fishing clinic this morning! It was a cute little event. Free t-shirt, food and fishing pole! 

 It's been a good weekend. xoxo

Fall weekend

We literally were outside almost the whole weekend. It was so nice! Saturday was filled with soccer, playing outside, football and I ran a 5k. Drake was working on and off all day again but luckily got Sunday off with us. He is in charge of the annuals at work right now, so he has been working a good bit. 

 Sunday we had a great day as a family. Bike riding downtown, grabbing lunch, playing baseball and golf outside, and grilling out for dinner. :) 

Back to work today blah. It's beautiful again which makes it even tougher to be at work. But hopefully it's a good week and then Kylie will be here this weekend and we have some more fun fall outings planned. ♥ 

school update

I wanted to update about Easton's school. It is going awesome! He is there from 8-1:45, one of only 4 students in his class and gets so much help with speech, does PE and gets a nap everyday. He is thriving! 

I can't even list all of his words because I think I would miss some, there are a ton of word approximations where probably only we can tell what he is saying, but he has added a handful of words since school has started. He signs with the words and is mastering goals that we set for him. Just a lot more attempts at repeating everything he hears. 

We still have a VERY long way to go, but having progress is so exciting! He had his first 4 word sentence the other day! Before school started he could barely say 2 words together and it was only when he was prompted to do so. Now he will say, " I want more cookie (gummie, cracker)" 

I am so grateful that things are going the way they are and that our morning routines are good...I even get a couple minutes to sit in silence before he wakes up! :) It wasn't long ago he was waking up about 5:30-6 everyday...now it's 7:00 or 7:30. ♥

This week is going good for our family ♥ Work and school are good...I really need to sit down and update about Easton's speech and school soon-we are so happy with how everything is going! The cool weather in the morning and evenings has been amazing...life is good all around right now :) 

So, Drake and I decided this week that we would each have an afternoon to go do whatever we wanted while the other one had Easton. Yesterday was Drake's day and he went to play golf with my dad. So while he was doing that, Easton and I went into town with no plan in mind and ended up having a great time! 

 We went to a shopping area where I planned to just run into hobby lobby to grab a fall door decoration, but when I pulled in I realized they had the yearly Halloween store set up on the other side of the shopping center, so I parked in the middle and we walked over to the Halloween store which Easton loved! That turned into walking down to the pet store, which turned into walking to O'Charleys for a dinner date :) 

I had so much fun just hanging out with Easton for the afternoon ♥ Then, today was my day while the boys hung out. Of course I went to the mall for shopping and got a mani/pedi. :) 

I think we might start doing this switch off like once a month. haha Obviously all of our evenings as a family are awesome, but this little plan was great! There is something so special about that one on one time with Easton...and then obviously a day of "me" time is so refreshing.

Fall Fun!

Well, fall "officially" starts in a couple days, but it has actually felt kind of nice outside the last couple days (for Florida), so I wasted no time getting out some fall decorations and lighting pumpkin candles! Hopefully it's here to stay as we go into fall and not just playing a sick joke on us :) Last night we went to gallery night and had a great time. We took Easton to the kid area and he had the bounce house all to himself. We walked around and ran into my parents and did a photo booth with them ♥ 

This morning we were up and at the soccer fields.

 After that we went to maritime for a kid's day event. Easton had fun checking everything out. 

 Of course his favorite part was rolling down the hill. :)

 It's been a good weekend so far! We will be heading to my brother's house soon for food and football. Happy Saturday!!
