Wade's World: 2 for 1 deal!

Two months worth of pictures and memories in one post! Goodness. I am getting worse and worse about posting on here...but even when it's only every now and then, I just can't fully let it go. I have typed in this spot for 11 years of my life now. That seems crazy. Through infertility, pregnancies, job changes, raising kids, vacations, and just the day to day things that seem to be the little things that all blend together, but one day will be the big things I hold onto I'm sure.

So, here I am. Between work and taking Easton to his wellness check up before church tonight...needing to pack for vacation and get soccer equipment ready for the season...a few minutes to just reflect on the good stuff from the last couple months. So, first is August 2020.

We had the first bit of August to enjoy the rest of our summer break since the start of school was pushed back. We rented a pontoon boat with slides and enjoyed a fun day on the water with the Stilwell crew...

These boys have fallen in love with bowling and both ended up getting their own balls, shoes, and bowling bag for their birthdays. I love the friendship they share.

More time with even more friends. :)

With school getting pushed back, so did the start of soccer season, which meant we had nothing to keep up moving and busy as far as a sport goes. I was having withdrawals :) So, the kids did a crossfit kids class for a handful of weeks and had fun...well actually Easton was signed up for the class, but Emerson managed to make her way in each time since Alisha was the coach.

A day out at the beach at Lagunas. I feel like I was able to give the kids a really fun summer and it felt as normal as possible, even though a lot of things around us are still far from it.

Putt Putt and crabbing at the beach. We have never done crabbing before and it was so much fun! We were waiting for the sun to go down, wondering what we needed to do...lights on our heads and nets in our hands...then BAM! Crabs running around everywhere! So many giggles and lots of excitement.

Drake got asked to play a handful of games for the local men's baseball league, which was perfect. He had looked into in the past, but the season was just too long, so he enjoyed going to play and we were able to watch him get back out there and hit a couple home runs too. :)

Emmy met her new teacher for K4. She is back at the same school and seems to be having a great year.

Date Night. We enjoyed a great dinner at our new favorite spot and then Drake got Emerson's name tattooed on his chest.

Then, it was time for school to start back! Look how much bigger she is...

I also went back to work. I love my job...but this year has been a little stressful as we got a TON of new students that wanted to do full time online classes. Things are finally starting to settle down and we are getting back into a little more of a normal routine.

Easton went back the week after Emmy and I were back to it, so he was at camp Pop and Nanny for the week :) We were able to go up and meet his teacher, and he is having such a great year! I am so thankful they are able to be back in school even if it does look a little different right now.

Then mix in some ice cream trips,

birthday parties,

and golf...and that makes for a pretty solid month! :)

Then we moved into September...

Finally back into our old routines.

We celebrated Easton's 9th birthday! He decided to do a sleepover this year with his buddies. One friend was quarantined but Emerson gladly filled his tent for the night :)

They had so much fun! I loved watching Easton just having fun and being silly with his closest friends. They went swimming, Mister Softee did a surprise drive by for us, they had pizza and cake, and played games.

Then Logan celebrated his birthday at Big Kahunas and we spent the day out there with them. The kids had a blast!

Then, as soon as we were in a routine...we weren't. Hurricane Sally came and it was unexpected since it was looking like a small storm going to Louisiana. Then, it starting turning and was moving so slow that it built up to almost a category 3.

I am so thankful they started construction to fix the draining by our house or we would have for sure flooded really bad this time. This is a HUGE, deep new retention pond they added down the road and it breached and we almost got water up to the house. I can't imagine if it wasn't there. So thankful we were safe and everything was okay.

After a week out of school we once again got back in our routines, hopefully for good now :) We have until the end of October to do our kids bowl free, so you know we have been still going there during the week...

We were able to celebrate our friends with a gender reveal party. So much fun-they did the egg reveal, where there are pink and blue eggs, 11 are hard boiled and the 1 raw egg revels the gender. Well, I was in charge of the eggs and I was so stressed, making sure I didn't mess up! :)

Hanging with friends on the weekends...

Easton with Pop and Nanny's neighbor's sons...so my brother used to play with their uncle when they were little all the time. So crazy how time flies and now these boys are hanging. They literally played about 8 hours of four square that week.

Working...training all of our new teachers. It feels really weird to be one of the veteran mentor teachers. In some ways I still feel like I am fresh out of college and one of the new people...it is hard to believe this is year 14 for me. Yikes!
