October memories

October was a fun month! Here are the highlights :)

We kicked off the month going to haunted woods near us. One of the few things that makes me excited instead of sad about the thought of Easton growing up. There are those things that come along that he can enjoy with us now that he couldn't do when he was younger. 

Logan was with us too. We went on the kid friendly night which was nice that they had that option. :) The kids had glow sticks and if they wanted the monsters that popped out to go away, they could hold out their glow stick to scare them away. Not going to lie, I had a glow stick...yes on kid friendly night and still held that thing out at Michael Myers. :) Not to mention we made it about half way through before Logan called it quits. We were just a big group of scaredy cats. 

Then, it was time for our Disney trip! The one that we were supposed to take back during Spring Break. It was obviously different with everything going on this year, but I am so glad we went! Here was my post when we got back about how things looked at Disney in 2020:

1. It was less crowded. You have to have a reservation to the park each day, so it was nice walking around with less people to dodge. I do think crowds are slowly going up and Magic Kingdom felt the most crowded overall.

2. No fast passes which was actually nice to not have the stress of booking new ones, and walking around the park like a pinball machine to make a time slot. The popular rides we did I would say averaged a 45 minute wait because they space everyone out so much and do extra cleaning.

3. Masks were okay the first two days because we were lucky with clouds and it wasn’t very hot. We were feeling them on that last day mixed with Florida heat and humidity They are super strict about them. You can’t even pull them down for a picture and you have to be stationary if you are eating or drinking.

4. No scheduled parades or character meets but they did have characters randomly ride by so the kids still get to see them which was plenty for us.

5. You have to use the app to reserve a time slot and order your food for a sit down meal.

6. So, overall yes it was different...but we had a great time and I’m so glad we went! Nothing new or different can take away the feeling you get as a parent watching your kids filled with pure joy, without a care in the world

We did Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. Emerson was able to ride a lot more of the bigger kid rides this trip, so that was really fun! 

Once we got home, it was back to school and soccer started! 

Emerson still runs around tip toeing everywhere this year, with a big smile. But, she is the sweetest team mate out there! She was hugging and giving high fives when her team scored. :)

We also took our annual trip out to Sweet Season Farms one weekend...

We did the corn maze this year, and Easton really liked it!

Then, back to our weekly routines again...

with some playing in the afternoons :)

Then, we wrapped up the month with trick-or-treating! The kids were Knuckles and Amy this year. It was a perfect night! Great weather and we enjoyed getting to ride around on the golf cart to get to houses for candy. 

Ready for a great November...and ready to put up my Christmas decorations soon! :)
