Sand and Sweat

What's cooler than being a teacher and having spring break? When your best friends are teachers too and you can all spend a day at the beach together :) Here is Vivian playing in the sand.

After the beach I did some yard work and now I am off to do kick boxing. I didn't plan on it, but I just checked my email and the instructor emailed me asking me where I was last class. haha I love that she called me out and now I feel too guilty to skip tonight :)

Quiet

Well, the Gully clan (Matt, Kathryn, Bayleigh, and their 3 dogs) packed up this morning and headed back home. We had a great time while they were here. The house is so quiet this morning. I have absolutely nothing on my calendar for today, so I plan on doing that! :) I do want to go on a run in a bit since it is so nice outside, but after that I will be just waiting on Drake to get home from work. Week 14

Week 14! So far everything is still going well. Lately I have to get up to go to the bathroom a thousand times a night. I have my next appointment next week to hear the heartbeat and see what the BPM are. I am so anxious for next month to find out what it is. I go back and forth on what I think. I feel like my stomach grew a good bit from last week to now. I am ready to have my big 'ol bump :)

*Now the size of your clenched fist, your baby is more fluid-like in his movements, so he’s no longer doing the jerk every time he repositions his arms and legs. Other developments this week include a roof of his own (inside his mouth, that is) as well as intestinal activity: His intestines are producing meconium (which is the waste that will make up his first bowel movement after birth). He is also sporting a downy coating of hair (lanugo) that keeps him nice and warm. Not to worry — you won't give birth to a monkey; baby fat will accumulate over the next few months and take over the function of keeping your baby warm and toasty —allowing most of that hair to shed.*

Oh and PS...Drake is feeling a ton better this evening :)

Busy

Since my last post we have been on the go non stop-doing fun things :) Yesterday we took Bayleigh and all of the dogs for a walk, went to lunch, met up with Jenn and Vivian at the park for a play date, got pedicures, and went to the mall. After that we got home and crashed.

Poor Drake woke up during the night throwing up. :( He thinks he got food poisoning from a catered lunch they had yesterday at a training he had to go to for work. So he is home from work today and taking a nap. I hate that he is sick. Hopefully he feels better soon. He was watching some Looney Toons earlier :) I felt like I had a 5 year old home sick from school.

Woo Hoo!!

It's Spring Break! Kathryn, Matt, and Bayleigh got in town yesterday. Kathryn and I were talking about how crazy it was that she was coming for Spring Break 2011. It seems like yesterday that it was Spring Break 2002 and we were in high school staying on the beach. No idea what was ahead of us, just carefree high school kids. Since then, we have been to college, married great guys, and now she has a kid and we both have babies on the way. It is crazy how fast time goes by. Anyways...to kick off our weekend we grilled out last night. It was good :) Then some other friends stopped by for a while and we all talked until bedtime.




Today was beach day! :) We are supposed to have great weather all week. Mid 70s and a cool breeze.



Drake was refusing sunscreen and said he would wear it if I put it on for him...he has an issue with his hands feeling sticky or dirty if he cannot wash them right away :) So this is what he gets :)

And of course Bayleigh loved the beach! :)

It was a beautiful day! We walked around the boardwalk and I got a dress that is not maternity, but it is tight under my bra area and then loose in the stomach. Perfect for me to wear with or without a belly :) Ok...off to shower. Happy Sunday!!

Week 13

Yay Second Trimester! So far everything is still great and I am soaking in and loving every second of pregnancy. I think that is part of being pregnant after struggling to get there, even during the not fun parts, you still smile knowing it is for the baby you have wanted for so long. I am in the awkward stage of clothes right now...maternity things are way too big...my regular clothes still button but when I wear any of my form fitting shirts I just look like I have a big pooch. (Well bigger than the one I already had ha!) I am ready for all of the fun stuff ahead of me-finding out what we are having, doing the nursery this summer, baby showers. :) Well, I think that is all. 3 more work days until spring break...and my best friend and her husband and baby will be here for part of the week! I am so excited. Have a great evening! xoxo

Rainy Saturday

Happy Saturday! Today was a rainy day here so while Drake was at work this morning I took care of a ton of laundry, the bills, all the fun stuff :) Then when he got home my parents stopped by and then we went to Jenn and Ronnie's house and had dinner and just hung out for the night. Vivian is getting so big. Look at that sweet little face ♥ Have a great night! xoxo

Comfy and Happy

The weekend is here! I am feeling much better after the other day. Today after work we went into town and had dinner and bought a couple things from the mall and World Market. Now I am showered and on skype with my best friend. Good start to the weekend! xoxo

Week 12

Sorry, but today's picture shows how I am feeling today...like total crap. I have been up since 3 this morning up and down to the bathroom not feeling good at all. I never threw up, just felt terrible. I can't complain...this is only the second time I have felt bad, I just hope I get my energy back tomorrow. I am home from work and threw on my pjs for an evening on the couch with Drake and Coz ♥ Happy Hump Day.

For one thing, his fetal digestive system is beginning to practice contraction movements necessary for eating, and his bone marrow is busy making white blood cells — weapons against germs once he's out of your safe haven.
