Hump Day

Today has been a good day. After work I went and got my hair trimmed (I got some swoop bangs, but they still need to be trained in case you can't tell :)) Then we went to grab dinner with my student Cody (the one that aged out) and his family. His mom called yesterday and wanted to take Drake and I to dinner. It was so nice! She gave us some goodies for the baby that Cody picked out himself. I feel like we rarely get out and about on our weeknights with our schedules, but it was nice to get out of the house for the evening. Now I'm off to bed. Goodnight :)

Week 16

Wow...I am 4 months pregnant?! Nothing crazy has happened since last week, I am enjoying not having to get up so much during the night to pee lately. I am eager to feel the baby moving which should happen within the next week or two hopefully. It is crazy to me thinking about how big it is now and how much it has changed. In my mind it is still the little peanut that is in my 7 week ultrasound picture. I think I will be in shock when we get to see him or her on that screen. 22 more days! :) Oh and they told us to bring a CD-R and they can record everything for us. yay! Well, I am off to get ready for bed. xoxo

*Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.*

Pets, Pictures and Pergolas

So yesterday after I was home from Drake's work...I notice that it is really quiet in the house. I go looking for Cosmo expecting her to be sleeping and do not see her anywhere. Then I go out back since she has a doggy door and is in and out all day, and nothing. I start to panic and drive around just thinking I am going to see her laying on the road hit by a car or something. I was balling. No luck for about 30 minutes and then I stop to ask these people if they had seen a dog running around and they said no, but there was a sign at the front of the neighborhood that said found dog! I run over to it and grab the number at the bottom. Cosmo had dug out and luckily this sweet family found her and put up this sign right away.

Once I saw Cosmo I wanted to give her a big hug...and spank her butt for digging out. :)So anyways...she is back and we covered any areas that are low enough for her to get out. ugh

After that I headed to do a shoot for Jenn and Ronnie's family. Vivian is just so cute!

Today we have been running around and working outside. We finished our new pergola sitting are. I love it!

Cosmo loves it too! (I mean how could you want to run away from this life?! haha) Now I am ready to have people over to cook out. :)

Well, I am off to shower and just relax the rest of the evening with Drake. Hopefully we can feel refreshed and ready to take on another week. xoxo

Weekend!

I am so excited it is the weekend! Yesterday after work I headed to the mall until Drake got off and went ahead and got a couple things from motherhood. I tried on the fake belly they have to see how the things would look in a couple more months and I just stared at myself in the mirror. Soaking in the fact that I would look like that soon...because well, there is a baby growing inside me. Holy crap?! There is a baby growing inside me! Another one of those moments where reality creeps in just a little bit more. It still feels like I am dreaming. After that I came home and Drake and I went to my parent's house for dinner for Kylie's last night of spring break...she headed back this morning because she had a soccer game. I love that kid! We ate and played games the whole time :)

Today I was up early and felt motivated for the day, so I headed to the gym. I went to a circuit training class that I have not been to yet and it was great. There were only a couple of us in there so the instructor would do one-on-one sparring with us during some of the rotations. I felt great. Then I came home and showered and headed up to Drake's work. Today is their Spring Fling where they have music, free food, and giveaways. It was nice to see him at work, there were a ton of the corporate people there for the event and they all met me and told me what a great job Drake is doing as manager. :) Go Drake! I mean, how can you not love this guy?!

Oh and here are their hilarious yet totally inappropriate shirts for the day. haha

Cloud 9

So I went in first thing this morning to see the doctor. It was a quick and easy appointment. Drake, my mom, and Kylie went back with me to hear the heartbeat :) It was a strong 156 BPM. :) I am scheduled for the big gender ultrasound on Wednesday April 20th. I cannot wait! We are planning to have a gender reveal party on that Friday. Everything checked out good today-blood pressure, sugar levels...she said that she did want me to gain more weight. I had only gained a pound since my appointment 4 weeks ago. I'm on it! haha Well...I am off to get some work done. Have a great day!!!

Week 15

Hey! I am 15 weeks tomorrow and can't wait to go hear the heartbeat on Wednesday. The only thing different the past few days is that I am having an annoying stuffy nose, which I didn't think twice about but this week on What To Expect, it talks about nasal congestion due to the rise in progesterone in the system right now. I'll take it.

I have had a few cravings here and there but nothing consistent or too weird. I was craving corn last night?! :) I still feel good and am still trying to be active so that after the pregnancy it is not as hard to get back.

Drake has been so great so far! He picked out a pair of shoes the other day he wants to get if we have a boy, and the other day in the store there was a kid's baseball glove and he went on and on about how our kid was not going to have some over sized glove...they would have one fit for them and they would know how to form it themselves! :)

Oh I am adding this picture each week...I like how it shows the proportion of the baby compared to your body.

Baby Wade is the size of an orange!
*Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements*

Bittersweet

I have had an awesome few days...but today is the last day of spring break :( I am so bummed about heading back to work tomorrow. I had a great week though! The other day I went and redeemed a 1 hour massage Drake got for me since I could not get it until I was out of the first trimester. It was awesome. Yesterday I tried to take care of a few things around the house, washed my car, and worked outside. Last night Kylie got in for her spring break which is this week :) So we hung out with her last night and then today we were at the beach all day. Another gorgeous day. I got one of my birthday gifts early :) Here is my new ride...

I love it! Everyone was at the beach today which was nice. Me, Drake, mom, dad, my brother, Kylie, and my brother's girlfriend.

I am so lucky to live here :)

But beware of jelly fish :) This is Kylie's leg after she got stung. Helpful tip: If you are stung find someone with a cigarette and take the tobacco out, get it wet and rub it onto the sting.

Sand and Sweat

What's cooler than being a teacher and having spring break? When your best friends are teachers too and you can all spend a day at the beach together :) Here is Vivian playing in the sand.

After the beach I did some yard work and now I am off to do kick boxing. I didn't plan on it, but I just checked my email and the instructor emailed me asking me where I was last class. haha I love that she called me out and now I feel too guilty to skip tonight :)

Happy Thursday!

Quiet

Well, the Gully clan (Matt, Kathryn, Bayleigh, and their 3 dogs) packed up this morning and headed back home. We had a great time while they were here. The house is so quiet this morning. I have absolutely nothing on my calendar for today, so I plan on doing that! :) I do want to go on a run in a bit since it is so nice outside, but after that I will be just waiting on Drake to get home from work. Have a great Wednesday!! Here are a couple pictures I took of Kathryn yesterday, she wanted some maternity shots taken...

Week 14

Week 14! So far everything is still going well. Lately I have to get up to go to the bathroom a thousand times a night. I have my next appointment next week to hear the heartbeat and see what the BPM are. I am so anxious for next month to find out what it is. I go back and forth on what I think. I feel like my stomach grew a good bit from last week to now. I am ready to have my big 'ol bump :)

*Now the size of your clenched fist, your baby is more fluid-like in his movements, so he’s no longer doing the jerk every time he repositions his arms and legs. Other developments this week include a roof of his own (inside his mouth, that is) as well as intestinal activity: His intestines are producing meconium (which is the waste that will make up his first bowel movement after birth). He is also sporting a downy coating of hair (lanugo) that keeps him nice and warm. Not to worry — you won't give birth to a monkey; baby fat will accumulate over the next few months and take over the function of keeping your baby warm and toasty —allowing most of that hair to shed.*

Oh and PS...Drake is feeling a ton better this evening :)

Busy

Since my last post we have been on the go non stop-doing fun things :) Yesterday we took Bayleigh and all of the dogs for a walk, went to lunch, met up with Jenn and Vivian at the park for a play date, got pedicures, and went to the mall. After that we got home and crashed.

Poor Drake woke up during the night throwing up. :( He thinks he got food poisoning from a catered lunch they had yesterday at a training he had to go to for work. So he is home from work today and taking a nap. I hate that he is sick. Hopefully he feels better soon. He was watching some Looney Toons earlier :) I felt like I had a 5 year old home sick from school.

Well, I am off. I just wanted to check in...I will have my weekly update later ♥

Woo Hoo!!

It's Spring Break! Kathryn, Matt, and Bayleigh got in town yesterday. Kathryn and I were talking about how crazy it was that she was coming for Spring Break 2011. It seems like yesterday that it was Spring Break 2002 and we were in high school staying on the beach. No idea what was ahead of us, just carefree high school kids. Since then, we have been to college, married great guys, and now she has a kid and we both have babies on the way. It is crazy how fast time goes by. Anyways...to kick off our weekend we grilled out last night. It was good :) Then some other friends stopped by for a while and we all talked until bedtime.

Today was beach day! :) We are supposed to have great weather all week. Mid 70s and a cool breeze.

Drake was refusing sunscreen and said he would wear it if I put it on for him...he has an issue with his hands feeling sticky or dirty if he cannot wash them right away :) So this is what he gets :)

And of course Bayleigh loved the beach! :)

It was a beautiful day! We walked around the boardwalk and I got a dress that is not maternity, but it is tight under my bra area and then loose in the stomach. Perfect for me to wear with or without a belly :) Ok...off to shower. Happy Sunday!!

Week 13

Yay Second Trimester! So far everything is still great and I am soaking in and loving every second of pregnancy. I think that is part of being pregnant after struggling to get there, even during the not fun parts, you still smile knowing it is for the baby you have wanted for so long. I am in the awkward stage of clothes right now...maternity things are way too big...my regular clothes still button but when I wear any of my form fitting shirts I just look like I have a big pooch. (Well bigger than the one I already had ha!) I am ready for all of the fun stuff ahead of me-finding out what we are having, doing the nursery this summer, baby showers. :) Well, I think that is all. 3 more work days until spring break...and my best friend and her husband and baby will be here for part of the week! I am so excited. Have a great evening! xoxo

From whattoexpect.com:
*What's up with your baby? Well, besides being as large as a peach now, that big old noggin of hers is now about half the size of her crown-to-rump length (that’s one reason why your little peach looks more like an alien from outer space at this point). By the time you give birth, her body will catch up, measuring three-quarters of her total size. What else is going on in there? Tiny bones are beginning to form in her arms and legs, the intestines are beginning to move from the umbilical cord to the abdomen, and the vocal cords are well under construction (the first step toward saying, "I love you, Mommy!"). And because she can move her arms and legs in a jerky fashion, she may be able to get her thumb into her mouth (a habit that may come in handy for self-soothing when she’s a newborn).*
