fall

It FINALLY resembles fall here today and I am so excited to go into the weekend with some great weather! We have been busy with our usual routine lately, adding soccer to our list 3 days a week. Easton loves it! The first game was last weekend and he started out biting his nails and sort of running and then once he was comfortable-watch out! :) He scored 6 goals and did so awesome!
Last Friday...our picture as we leave on Friday morning has quickly turned into a little tradition-celebrating another week.
Here are some pictures from the game. It was SO hot and I couldn't believe how much longer the game was compared to the place we had to play last year. (Further from home but allowed kids under 5 to play so the games were like 20 minutes with 3 breaks haha) Now we play 40 minute games and Easton did not get pulled so he was dripping with sweat by the time he was done but I guess he is loving it because yesterday we got to practice and he was so upset that we weren't there for a game.

After the game we went to Millie's birthday party that was a pool party. Easton had fun cooling off while I sat sweating holding a sweet sleeping baby :) Then, we got home and I headed out and spent a long afternoon car shopping-always so brutal, but the end result was a success.

Drake was recently given a company vehicle which was a huge blessing! So, we decided to sell and trade in our vehicles so that we could share one vehicle when we aren't at work that has more room. We got an SUV with a 3rd row which will be so nice to have the option of having other people ride with us even with 2 car seats in the back.

Sunday my mom offered to watch the kids so that we could go get a kid free dinner! Whoop whoop! It was before Emerson was born since we went to eat just the two of us. It was nice.
{Headed to drop e&e off}

This week we had school pictures :) Easton looks so grown! We had his annual meeting this week and they said if they were to test him right now, he would test out of the program! God is so good! He was evaluated at 59 months and he was several months above that in every. single. area. Gross motor, fine motor, language, literacy, math, daily living and social/emotional.

We went to visit Daddy at work this week and check out his new office. :)
And finally here we are this morning-in long sleeves! :) I have 2 pretty amazing kids ♥
Have a great weekend!

5 months

Emerson, You turned 5 months old this past Monday! I can't believe I have a 5 year old and a 5 month old! You are such a happy baby! You are rolling over back to front and front to back now. You are even sitting up on your own with only the occasional slip.

You do great at daycare and will eat rice cereal there and have a bottle about every 4 hours now with 6 ounces in it. I just started you on some solids for dinner time too...and you loved your carrots so far. You are so cute when you go to open your mouth for more, you open but stick your tongue out blocking the spoon, so you are still figuring it all out :)

You are wearing 12 months clothes and size 2 diapers. Sleeping great at night and just overall such an awesome baby. You got your ears pierced the other day and you get a lot of compliments on your eyebrows haha

You are starting to blow a ton of bubbles and copy sounds trying to talk to us. We love you so much Emi-Lou-Hoo ♥

starting soccer

Hey! Well, here we are bringing another weekend to a close, WAY to fast! But we had a really busy, but good week. :) Easton started soccer and is doing great!
It was so nice to just sit back and watch him while hanging out with Emerson. He just follows directions and does whatever the coach needs him to do...my flashbacks of soccer are little hectic since he started at age 3. Those days were the days of herding cats on a field and hoping the kids were entertained enough to not run off to the park beside the field :) Now I just get to truly enjoy watching him and I felt so proud of his talent out there too. Emerson loves being outside watching, so overall soccer is super enjoyable this year. ♥

We also had Easton's 5 year check up. All is great! He was not a fan of the shots though. :(
5 weeks of school down! Woo hoo!
I started working on super sonic. Fingers crossed!
This little chunky monkey already fills out 9 month clothes and is wearing some 12 month stuff already. Crazy!
We enjoyed a trip to the library this week too.
All in all, life is good! Have a great week!

Dear Easton

Easton,
I am in complete shock that you are 5 years old now! You are very shy when you are around new people or situations, but SO silly once you are comfortable. You are very competitive, you will start to get choked up if you lose and get so frustrated...unless Emerson is playing, she is allowed to win. You are seriously the best big brother. When I was pregnant with your sister, I pictured the two of you together, but reality has blown my dreams out of the water.

With your birthday, I immediately think back on your life so far. We prayed to have you for years. I cannot imagine my life without you. You make me laugh everyday. You have come so far and been through a good bit in your short life already. We found my old phone the other day and put it on the charger. When it came on, up pops all of these old memories. You about the age of 3, barely able to communicate. You have worked so hard buddy and I am so proud of how great you are doing in school and how smart you are! We have hopefully seen the last of your seizures and can look ahead to you continuing to grow into such a healthy, happy and thriving boy.
You LOVE sports. You say that your favorites are football and basketball. You have played soccer and t-ball on teams, have done crossfit and gymnastics and enjoy going to play golf and tennis. You are 49 lbs and 43.5 inches.
We had such an amazing party day celebrating you! This year you were so pumped for your party.
We had it at skyzone trampoline park and everyone we invited was able to come. Even the parents had a blast :) I love looking at this smile on your face. My big boy. But still so young and innocent, not a worry in the world.

I hope you remember that you can do anything you put your mind to in this life. I cannot imagine growing up in this world like you will have to. You will go through challenges that were not around when I was young.  Just always keep God first and never give up. I thank him everyday for you and pray that he keeps you safe.

Thank you for making me a mom. Thank you for making my life better than I could have ever imagined. Thank you for putting things into perspective for me. I love you buddy.

-Mom

Well, we are finally settling into our new norm. So many (positive) changes this year in our lives! I am slowly getting used to waking up at 5:00 to start getting ready before I get e&e ready and out the door on time. I am really enjoying my job. I will always miss some of my close friends at my old job, but we still keep in touch and I will miss waking up later ha! and our little Friday outings we were able to do...but trading those things in to be right down a hallway from Easton is so worth it! My stress level is so much lower during the day with what I am doing now too. All in all, it's been a very positive change for us...at the same time that Drake make a career move and got moved up to a branch manager spot. I am so proud of him! He now works at a branch even closer to home too, so he gets home almost an hour earlier now.

The few weekends of back to school were rough. The first weekend Easton have fever and threw up, but slowly felt better by Sunday and we went on into the new week feeling good. We even went to the new trampoline park and had a blast.

But that night, as I am literally sitting in the car as we are about to leave for our first date night since Emerson was born...
2 minutes later Drake comes walking out with Easton-and a bucket :( He was gagging and not feeling good again. So me and Emerson went back inside and Easton went up to after hours-another ear infection. Poor guy had a rough couple weeks and I'm glad he is feeling better now!

Emerson continues to enjoy her daycare. She is all smiles when I drop her off and this is her BFF that she talks to all day :) The front door is unlocked and we always just walk in...it made me smile as I walked in the other day and no one heard me, as I turn the corner Emerson is being held by Mrs. Barbara and cracking up as she tickles and loves on her saying, "You want nana to do that again?!" I truly feel like she loves the babies as if they were her own grandkids and I truly don't worry while I am at work. I am so thankful we found them!
One day after picking up Emerson was not happy on the way home, fighting a nap and as I turned around to soothe her, Easton was already taking care of it ♥
I had a training one day last week which meant I got to eat lunch away from my desk and lesson plans...it's the little things sometimes.
Twinning with my boy for jeans Friday
Last weekend we attempted our first overnight trip as a family of 4, and it was great!
We went to Destin of course and spent Saturday swimming

and then went and did go-carts, bumper cars, arcade games and a train ride
followed by a yummy dinner. Emerson attempted her high chair for the first time but kept slipping to the side, she peed through her outfit, Easton knocked the pizza off of the stand trying to get his own piece, Emerson threw up all over the floor as we were paying for our ice cream afterwards...but you just have to laugh at the craziness sometimes.

Easton was so pooped that night, he actually requested to go back so he could sleep instead of staying out. He went a football game with pop and nanny the night before so he was exhausted.
Sunday we did some shopping but Emerson wasn't feeling the best and it was rainy, so we came back and then she ended up at after hours! Ear infection, eye infection and a cold. Gahhhh

And this past weeks highlights...Easton apparently needed to start wearing sunglasses to recess haha
The first step to Easton's Halloween costume came in. I went and got some felt, hair color spray and will do face paint...hoping I can turn this kid into super sonic-wish me luck! Even if we end up with a pinterest fail, hopefully it will be memorable for him. I always remember my mom's handmade costumes for me.
Finally, this week was Easton's birthday week! I took him for some pictures but didn't care about getting the "perfect" picture. I just wanted to try and capture him at this awesome age. We had fun!

I can't believe I have a 5 year old! I will post all of the details to his awesome party soon!
