My first baby shower!

Today was a great day. I had my first baby shower :) It was given to me by my mom and her best friend. It still doesn't feel like it was for me, like I was just filling in for someone who was having a baby and that was it. I am still waiting for this moment of realization to come up and slap me in the face at any moment. I guess it's harder for it to sink in because when you try for a while to get pregnant, you visualize all of these things that will one day happen, and then when they do, it still feels like you are pretending and it is just another one of your fantasies.

Here is the food table :)

The only picture of me and my mom and it's blurry :(

opening gifts! Easton is already so loved!

for your viewing pleasure :) My mom got a little overwhelmed by all of her shower throwing duties haha

My girl ♥

We played games, ate, and I opened gifts. It was a really nice afternoon and I was so excited to show Drake all of Easton's goodies. He was off playing golf with my dad and brother while we did the shower :) Once we got home, we put everything up and got a little closer to being where we need to be by the time he gets here. About 6 more weeks!!

Week 33

Week 33! As you can tell from my video the other day, Easton has been moving a ton, sometimes it will take my breath away and just shock me. He got a hold of my ribs this week too. Ouch. I feel great overall, but it is getting harder to work around this big 'ol belly. I guess it is because he is growing so much right now, but overall my energy is really low these days. It doesn't take much to make me want to crash.

I continue to prick my fingers to monitor my glucose, have heartburn, and very vivid dreams. I am starting to have some trouble getting to sleep. We had our 3rd lamaz class Monday...next week is our last one. Poor Drake has to go after getting up at 4:45 in the morning for work, so when she turns the lights low for relaxation, his head starts bobbing. :) So this week we stopped and he got some Mountain Dews to drink and that helped. haha

Also this week we got our maternity shoot done, I can't wait to get the pictures back! This Sunday is my first shower from my mom and her best friend. I am so excited! We got fabric swatches for approval from Drake's mom for our curtains that she is about to start on. Lots of exciting things going on now that we are in the home stretch! ♥

*Baby is the size of a honeydew*
Your baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and he could grow up to another full inch this week. With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of his pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as he continues to develop his own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once he's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs. Senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate.

cell phone coolness

Happy Saturday! Today was a good day, I was up and ready to take on the day at 6:30. I usually get up about ummm 9:00. :) Hey, It's my summer break and my last few weeks of being able to sleep in for a very long time. I got up and took Cosmo on a long walk...

and I took her while wearing my new kicks :)

once we got back I spent the morning cleaning, paying bills, and doing things around the house. Once Drake got home we got ready and headed over to Jenn and Ronnie's house to eat dinner and hang out with them, Joe, and Rachel. Of course the kids are always entertaining :) Vivian, Jonah, and here is little Dean...
Overall a successful day ♥ Have a great weekend!

:)

Last night I did a shoot for my friends Joe and Rachel. It was HOT but fun :)

This morning I was up and headed to go get my third trimester bloodwork done. blah After that I went to get Kylie's birthday gifts and headed over to my parent's house to celebrate her 8th birthday. I can't believe she is 8 years old already. She is participating in a horse camp this week and is loving it!

This is her horse Reader...

cooling off after riding all day...

at my parent's house we ate lunch and cupcakes, she opened presents, and we swam in the pool. :)

I hope she had a great birthday! She deserves it ♥

Week 32

Another week closer to Easton getting here! Overall I don't have much to report...everything continues to be consistent overall. We had our 2nd lamaz class tonight, we did some of the relaxation stuff on the floor. Yea...I am not wired to relax. Even while the lights are dim, soft music is playing, and I am listening to someone telling me to relax while Drake is rubbing my arms, I am sitting there thinking about things I need to do, or worrying about something. That can't be good. :)

I do worry about the unknown as far as when he will get here with school starting. I want to get the school year started with my kids and have 8 weeks of lesson plans set and ready to go hopefully before he decides to come.

I am just excited overall (and scared of the unknown) but continue to feel so grateful for this baby growing inside me. I can't believe I am already at my 32 week post. I can't wait to be a mom! ♥

*Baby is the size of a jicama*
What's up with your baby? He's starting to get ready for his big debut, tipping the scales at almost four pounds and topping out at just about 19 inches. In these past few weeks, it's all about practice, practice, practice as he hones the skills he'll need to thrive outside the womb — from swallowing and breathing to kicking and sucking. And speaking of sucking, your little one has been able to suck his thumb for a while now. Something else to note: As more and more fat accumulates under your baby's skin, he's becoming less transparent and more opaque.

rainy days

Happy Weekend! Not much has been going on around here, it has been rainy the last couple days off and on...and today it has been yucky all day long. I did manage to still get my shoot in the other day with my friend Danielle :) She wanted to take some pictures for her husband's birthday present. Lucky guy!

Yesterday Drake was working, so I ran some errands in the morning and then in the afternoon he got home and my parents and Kylie came by. We all got in the pool until the bad weather came through, and then we headed inside and played some Just Dance and golf on the wii.

Once they headed home Drake and I went and got some dinner and stopped by redbox to rent a movie. We ended up getting hall pass...we enjoyed it :)

FINALLY...like I said today has been rainy all day and Drake is at work so I went and got my nails done and went and killed some time in Target. I got some earrings that I can wear for our photo shoot. Our shoot is tomorrow! :) I am hoping that the it will clear up so that we can get them done. Well, I am off...sorry this post was all over the place. Have a great weekend! ♥

Beach Day

Today was a good day at the beach with my parents and Kylie...even though my dad gave me a hard time for wanting to leave for lunch. I was hungry! :) Now I'm just waiting for my other half to get home from work. ♥ Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Visit

This weekend Drake's mom and step-dad came into town. It was a really quick visit, but a lot of fun. They got in Saturday and we decided to cook out for the evening. My parents and Kylie came over to hang out too...

They brought their dog Tucker along for the ride :)

we played in the pool...

and had a little whip cream fight :)

The next day we went into town and stopped by the mall, had lunch, and went to the pier to walk around...

and then that evening Drake, Jeff, and I went to the driving range to hit some golf balls...

It was a good weekend! I am ready for them to come back after Easton is here :) They are troopers...driving 14 hours! Alright...now I am up to date on my stuff, time to head out with Drake and Cosmo to the dog park :) Have a great day!

Week 31

I am so behind! We have not had our computer for a few days...we were moving our office stuff into our bedroom to make room for nursery stuff in the old office-if that makes any sense :) We have the crib and bedding set up, a couple decor things up, and moved the armoir in there this weekend. (Well Drake and Jeff did) Drake's mom is going to make curtains for me! :) I am so excited. We also started birthing classes yesterday. It went good. I was back and forth on if we should do it or not since some people say it is a waste, but I'm glad we are. I get to hang out with Drake and feel more informed about delivery. It's a win-win. I have another check-up tomorrow with my doctor, it should be pretty routine. Everything is going good, I can't believe how close it is getting. I can see Drake getting more and more excited which is neat.

*Baby is the size of bok choy* (whatever that is?!)
Weighing in at three-plus pounds and measuring 18 inches long, your baby is quickly approaching his birth length — though he's got to pack on another three to five pounds before D-day. Also developing at an impressive clip: your baby's brain connections (he's got to make trillions of them!). He's now processing information, tracking light, moving his head from side to side, and perceiving signals from all five senses. He's also putting in longer stretches of sleep, which is why you're probably noticing more defined patterns of wakefulness (and movement) and rest (when he’s pretty still).

Miami...and too many pictures

We are back safe and sound from Miami. It was a great trip! I was worried about the weather because they were showing scattered showers for the whole weekend, but it cleared up and was so nice. We got there Saturday and checked into our room at the Mandarin Oriental. It was such a nice hotel!

We got ready and headed to South Beach for the evening.

We started with dinner at a place called Ocean's Ten. Not impressed. After that we walked around to the shops until my feet in heels could take no more and then headed back to the hotel.

We checked out the pool area before heading back to our room. It was beautiful!

On Sunday we spent most of our day laying at the pool and beach area soaking up the sun and relaxing. :)

and then went to an area called Bayside and ate dinner at Hard Rock.

Monday was a fun filled day. We started out at the Miami Zoo. Drake and I both love animals and enjoy going to zoos. We rented a 2 seater bike and rode around the 27 acres. It got hot but was so much fun.

After that we went back to the hotel, cooled off in the pool, and then went to the Marlins/Phillies baseball game. We went to buy our tickets and when the guy asked where we wanted to sit my first question was-which seats are being covered by the shade already? duh! :) So we got some good seats in the shade, I was happy!

They had fireworks after the game...

Finally yesterday we checked out of our hotel but did not fly home until 9:50 at night, so we headed to the mall and walked around for a while, went to see a movie, walked around some more stores, went to eat dinner, and started our check-ins to come back home.

Overall it was a wonderful trip! I am so thankful that we were able to go. I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend. ♥
