slacker

Hey guys! Sorry I have been slacking in blog world lately. I feel like I am non-stop... During the week I am busy with work, trying to make it to the gym, hanging out with Drake and Easton, and editing pictures from photo shoots. Same story, different day I guess. :) Here is a picture of my kids from Friday when we went to a restaurant for their lunch. Yea, I get paid to take these guys into the community and work on social skills. :) Best. job. ever.

I am super excited about something that happened this week-I booked a room for a trip to Vegas this summer with my girls! :) I have never been to Vegas and cannot wait to go with them. So, I already have 2 trips planned for this summer...one to Kyle and Melissa's wedding in June and then Vegas in July. This is going to be the best summer ever! Beachin it up with little e and Kylie will be in town like usual for her break. SO much fun ahead. I know it's only January, I just can't contain my excitement :)

Here is a quick picture of us from today while we were out and about. ♥ How handsome are these guys?! I wish Easton would have smiled, but when you have the camera propped up on self-timer this is what you get :)

I hope you all had a good weekend...time for another work week. I can't believe January is almost over! xoxo

Labor of Love

Today Drake came home from work with a red maple tree to plant for Easton. He wanted to plant it for him so that it can grow right along with little e. :) I think it is the sweetest thing ever. Right now it is just a small little thing, but it will be so neat to drive by and see a big beautiful tree one day when we are long gone from this house and can remember the memories we made here with our baby boy. ♥

Happy Monday!

Happy Birthday Ronnie

TGIF! Today was a teacher planning day at work, so I got some things done in my classroom and then our principal let us head home early :) I love my boss! I went and picked up Easton and we came home and went on a walk together and then got ready for Ronnie's birthday dinner. We ate at The Fish House downtown. Love their food! Here are some pictures from dinner, happy birthday Ronnie!

Short and Sweet

Today was a good day off. It was a beautiful day so we went on a walk,

spent the afternoon shopping at the mall, and went to the gym. ♥ Have a good (short!) work week. xoxo

Long Weekend in progress!

I LOVE Mondays off! (Well who doesn't) But I love the feel of a 3-day weekend, and then when you go back to work for the week, it feels that much better knowing you only have to work hard for 4 days instead of 5.

Saturday we decided to make our day full of things that we needed to get done, and that way we could fully enjoy our other 2 days off together with the things we wanted to get done. It was started the perfect way...getting little e out of his crib once he was up for the day and bringing him to our bed to hang out with us and watch some Saturday morning cartoons to start the day. Dad, Mom, Easton, and Cosmo all hanging in bed :) Easton has definitely taken an interest in Cosmo these days. If she is around, he is staring her down. And if she is close to him, he is reaching out to touch her. ♥

Once we were all ready to get going, we didn't stop. I had a photo shoot at 8am and then came home and cleaned up and did some laundry, after that we made a grocery store run, payed the bills, yea you get it. All the fun stuff.

Yesterday we hung out around the house for a bit and then went to watch my brother's flag football game. We had fun :)

Easton was wearing his first pair of big boy shoes and would not stop staring at them. He was so curious...

with Rose, drooling up a storm and still staring at his feet haha

Uncle Kyle coming over to say hey

Finally! He was not giving up, and finally got a hold of them...and ate them.

Once we left the fields and got back home for Easton's nap, we made loaded mashed potatoes to take over to the Otts house for dinner. Here is our version of family time in the kitchen while peeling and chopping up potatoes together.

Me: People actually enjoy doing this kind of thing?!
Drake: Ugh I know, this is stupid.

Ahhh such sweet memories being made. haha Anyways, once they were ready, we headed over to Jenn and Ronnies. They made chili and sticky ribs, we brought the mashed potatoes, and Rachel and Joe brought broccoli. We ate and hung out for the evening and then watched Rise of The Planet of the Apes. Here's little e with his pal Dotts :)

It has been a great weekend so far...now I'm off to enjoy my Monday. xoxo

4 months

Easton,
You are 4 months old today! The past month has been so great. You are such a happy baby. I definitely won the baby lottery! If you make eye contact with someone, you are going to give them a smile. You are giggling all the time now and it is music to my ears.

Over the last month you enjoyed your very first Christmas. You actually participated in opening your gifts so that was fun. I loved having 2 weeks with just me and you. I already have moments where I freak out about the fact that whenever you leave a stage of your life, it is gone forever. We can never get it back with you. I never understood why moms would cry while doing things like packing up clothes that their children have outgrown...now I do. I want to make sure I take full advantage of my time with you, and although I can remember things now because they are so fresh, I never want to forget what you are like at every stage in your life. I filmed you the other night while you were taking a nap. Zooming in on your little hands and your mouth while you were eating in your sleep :) I love watching them now, but I know one day I will cherish the pictures and videos more than ever...that is why I am a little extensive with it :)

You have been sleeping through the night here and there this month, but the last 3 nights in a row have been through the night so I hope we are finally there. You are 15 pounds and 26''. You are already wearing 6-9 month clothes. Crazy. We started feeding you cereal for your last feeding last night and it went just fine. Other than that you still eat on a 6,9,12,3,6,9 schedule. (give or take a little)

You notice things around you more and more every day. You play with your toys (well, eat them) and love looking at yourself in mirror. It is our nightly routine to get you undressed for your bath and stand you up on the bathroom counter and you will walk towards the mirror while I am holding you up and smile at yourself.

I hope I am not forgetting anything. Poor little guy, 4 months means shots tomorrow and your gums are hurting you today. I am interested to see if we have a tooth coming. I love you SO much buddy.

love, mom

Love my family time!

This weekend has been another good one. Drake is off on Saturdays and Sundays until the end of next month so we are taking advantage of it. :) Yesterday we hung around the house most of the day...went on a family walk and then yesterday afternoon Allie and Jessica stopped by to meet Easton. He was such a flirt :) We hung out and talked for a while and then once they left and Easton was asleep Drake and I stayed up for a bit and watched The Hangover 2.

Today was a beautiful day so we got up and headed to the beach. Easton was so good. We walked around the boardwalk, went down and played in the sand, watched the birds, and enjoyed a family day together. I can't tell you how excited I am about the fact that Easton wears sunglasses without trying to pull them off :) He is such a stud.

After leaving the beach we stopped by Sams for a couple things and grabbed lunch at Bagel heads. Now we are at the house and relaxing and preparing for another busy work week. Life is good!

Have a good week! xoxo

TVT

*Happy Thursday people! So this week has been a good first week back to work. I did cry leaving Easton at my mom's house on Monday morning. After having 2 weeks of being with him all day everyday it definitely stung leaving him. But lucky me with my work schedule, the week after next we only work 3 days with the kids and those are all 1/2 days. :) Then a handful of weeks and Spring Break will be here before I know it. (I hope)

*So thanks to my Pandora, I discovered the best thing ever by mistake. Lullaby renditions of rock songs. Check out all of the artists here. I crank that stuff up when me and Easton are riding dirty and he is as quiet as can be in his car seat just maxing and relaxing while I am rocking out inside my head. :) Love it!

*I just had one of my ESE students age out of our program which is always sad, but I am already getting another student. A parent of one of my old students found out I was the teacher for the program I work with and is having her son transferred over to my school so he can be in my class again! :) That made my day to hear that.

*In addition to my ESE students I have all day, I have one period a day with my TV Production kids. I always have fun with them!

*So other than work this week I have been enjoying my evenings. Family time, gym time, and I got a 1 hour hot stone massage. Thanks Drake ♥

* This year is off to a great start! Happy Friday Eve xoxo

Happy 2012!

I hope you all had a wonderful new year's eve. We had a blast! We started out at Jenn and Ronnie's house with all of the kids. It was a full house! We did a potluck dinner that was awesome and then had the kids do their gift exchange. We drew names and Easton picked Dean and gave him one of those moving balls to help with crawling. Easton got a truck from Evan. After our bellies were full and the kids went down for the night we headed to Trey and Danielle's house.

I think this is 4 new years eve nights that we have been over there and we always have so much fun. Just our small group of close friends playing games, hanging out in our pjs, and acting crazy together. The girls played a fun board game inside while the boys busted out the good 'ol oversized jenga again. It got pretty intense. We rang in the new year, sat by the fire pit, and then all of us old people decided to call it a night.
We headed on home and I gave Easton his first new year's kiss ♥ I am SO excited to see what 2012 has in store for our little family. xoxo
