2 months

Happy 2 months! I am so thankful for the time I get to spend with you! This past month would have been the time that I would have to go back to work if I was on maternity leave, so I am very thankful that you came to us in April, which will allow me to spend almost 4 months with you before going back to work!

You are a very happy and content baby. You smile a ton and love looking at toys above you and especially the fan. You not only stare at the fan, but will sit there and watch it and just keep smiling and laughing at it. You are continuing to bless us with awesome sleep! Yay! Going to bed at 9 and waking up between 6 and 7 in the morning. Because you sleep so long at night, you have to make up for your eating during the day and overall still want to eat about every 2 or 2 1/2 hours, usually drinking 4 ounces.
We had your 2 month check up yesterday, which meant shots :( But everything is looking good and you are a healthy, growing little girl. You are 22.25 inches and weigh 11 lbs 9 oz now. You wear 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.
So, yesterday after your shots you were sleeping in your car seat and we picked up Easton from VBS and went straight to Target for some infant Tylenol. I kept you in your car seat to sleep and we just took the stroller in. We piled up groceries on the bottom of the stroller and are at the back of the store when you decide to wake up and apparently feel all of the pain from your shots. You started SCREAMING. I pick you up, nope. Try to give you your pasi, nope. Then I have you in one arm and a bottle and formula in the other trying to mix you a bottle in the middle of a random aisle, while trying to tell Easton to stop touching everything. I got the bottle made and...nope. Nothing would soothe you, so at that point I just want to book it out of the store. We were "those" people. I guess at least it was a screaming little baby and not a screaming toddler throwing a tantrum...does that make it any better?

So we start making our way up to the front of the store and Easton is trying to be a helper for me and push the stroller, but he can't see over the top and is running into everything...as you are still crying. But we still have to check out because the stroller is full and we need the medicine! Once we finally make it to the front you are in and out of crying at this point and Easton unloads everything from the bottom...apparently managing to add Little Debbies and bath crayons to our list. So I am still holding you and you are slowly drinking a bottle now in between crying, {thank goodness} so I'm feeding you, trying to load the bags and get my wallet out while Easton is standing there, "Mommy, we didn't get a blind bag! Mommy, we didn't get a blind bag!" {Little Thomas bags with a mystery train inside that I told him we could get} It was chaos. After that we somehow made it out to the car, I was sweating and on the verge of tears. Now as I replay the story or tell anyone about it I just crack up. You can't make this stuff up.

Being a mommy is hard some days. But even through the hard days, they are still so so good because I get to spend my time with you and your brother. I promise to never take that for granted. My love for you both is so strong and you both make me so proud every day. ♥
 This summer has been so much fun! I am worried that going back to work in August will be a really hard adjustment for me. I've never been off of work this long and I'm getting used to just doing whatever I want every day with my babies. But I will try my best to not think of that until the time comes :) I am praying that some things happen for me in the work area of my life, but I know that God will open the right doors for me and put me exactly where he wants me. Anyways...back to summer stuff!

{Daddy worn out after 60 our work weeks. He works so hard for our family ♥ }
{Play dates at the park. We have to get there early so we don't pass out from the heat.}
{Sponge bob underwear and a sprinkler. Awesome day ♥ }

{Our beautiful girl...it makes me smile every time someone comments on how she looks just like her brother.}
{Lots of pool days and fun with cousins}

{Big boy finally enjoying putting his face under water and loving his goggles}
{Twins staring at the fan and so content...for 2 minutes}
{Father's Day was fun. Drake's only request-to eat lunch at five guys. Him and Easton went and hit golf balls that morning and then we enjoyed lunch together}

{SO thankful I get to spend everyday with these 3!}
{Easton was old enough to attend Vacation Bible School this year, and he was so excited! He was clearly ready for me to go! We have come a long way from the little boy who cried the whole church service and would cling to my leg at school drop off}
 Have a good week!

slow down

I heard this song not long after Emerson was born...and of course cried like a baby. I had to take some clips from the last couple months and put them to it. Love my babies so much! ♥

kicking off summer

Goodness! Time to play catch up {as usual} and just transfer a bunch of cell phone pics from my phone to the blog...Easton and Emerson-I am absolutely loving my time off with the two of you! I have to admit I was a little nervous thinking about 12 hour days with just the 3 of us, just trying to balance everything out and figuring out my new norm, but it has been great, and that is definitely because of how awesome you both are!

Easton is very patient when I am having to feed Emerson, change diapers or do other things around the house and Emerson will just go with the flow and doesn't mind being in her car seat as we make our way around town to do things.

Easton finished out his school year at the start of this month. I had fun with him at his pre-k fun day!

First day-last day

Emerson still sleeps in her rock n'play for now, but she is in her room and oh my gosh! That girl has her sleeping figured out! :) For the last couple weeks she has been going to bed at 9:00 and sleeping through until 6 or 7 the next morning!!
Hanging out at the Lynch's a couple weekends ago...

This was the official start of our summer...we usually make at least one outing each day.

Playing with the neighbors ♥
I took Easton to this month's workshop and he made a trophy for Father's Day. We also got Drake some cheesy socks and a gift certificate for a shave...like the hot towel, face massage type shave. I hope he will like it.

Kylie is also in town for part of the summer...she will be 13 next month! So crazy! I love these kids so much!
Oh and please make note, I successfully completed my first grocery shopping trip with both kids and we all came out alive. BUT we recently got grocery pick up offered in our town, so I ordered and paid online yesterday and chose our pick up time of  tomorrow morning at 8:00. So I will pull up and they bring our groceries out and load them, I don't even have to get out. If this goes smooth, that will be a life changer!

 Easton is doing gymnastics again this summer, but we added a martial arts trial to our schedule. It is just 3 classes, but we went yesterday and he loved it! I think for now we will just do the trial because he will do soccer again in the fall and then we found out he will be able to start basketball in January! So...I think we will just enjoy the trial for now, because it requires a longer commitment than anything else he is involved in...but it is seriously the cutest thing ever.
Yesterday I also got our first date box in the mail. Just a random thing I came across through social media, but I love it! We will get a new box every month with everything we need for a fun, at home date night.
 Finally, today we went to swim with some new friends we made :) Easton and their kids got along great and their dad also played baseball, so...new BFF for Drake haha. I was SO proud of Easton today in the pool! He literally went from only jumping in if we caught him and not going under water at all, to jumping off the diving board and going under today! He acted like he had been doing it for years! Yay!
This summer is going to be so fun!xoxo
